It had been a very normal evening. Ashley had been working late, but Jane had appeared with dinner, and then Robert had appeared even though he was meant to be away through the latest door with some friends. He'd claimed that Amsterdam was 'boring', but Jane had given her father a knowing look. Robert had secretly missed them, but he wasn't about to admit to it. Darcy kissed her with the same passion he always had for his wife's kisses. It wasn't a feeling that had faded over the years. Perhaps there was the tiniest guilty feeling, but it wasn't for the older version of his wife.
