Who? Rob, Darcy & OPEN
Where? Starting at the park on wheel 3
When? Wednesday morning
What? A riding accident
Open? Yes
Rating? TBD

If Rob were being entirely honest, he and Darcy had been showing off a little bit. Darcy was a funny sort - the kind of posh Englishman that he doubted he'd ever have spoken to back home, but the more time that he spent with him up at the farm, the more he realised that they had more similarities than differences. Or maybe it was just that he was excited to have someone else around who knew horses like he did. Apparently the man liked dogs as well, and that was a lovely new connection. Rob had been so excited to meet the new puppy, and Toby was thrilled with his new friend.

But that was exactly why they were showing off - getting a bit cocky and racing around the parks. He'd missed the fellow while he'd been in Coney Island, and so had Annie. But it had changed very quickly from just a bit of a laugh to being horribly frightening. Bingley had gotten under the horse's hooves, Annie had spooked, and before there was anything either of them could do, Darcy was on the ground. Rob was sure he'd heard a cracking sound, and he'd just hoped that it wasn't a bone.

He'd dismounted himself, and had to try to wrangle the two horses who were all shaken up from the episode, he'd tried whistling for the dogs - Toby came back, but Bingley was sniffing all round his master in a panic. Fortunately, the puppy didn't seem to have been hurt in any way. Eventually, he'd managed to get over to Darcy without horses trampling all over him. He was breathing, but unconscious. The radios were a godsend, and people were apparently coming to help. Rob knew enough about horses to know that you didn't move a thrown rider if they couldn't stand up for themselves.

He kept close watch as he waited, trying not to feel too guilty about it. It was just an accident, no one was to blame. It was just the risk that came with riding, that was all. He'd be fine. He was sure he'd be fine.

Ashley chuckled a little. "It's okay. I understand what's going on a little better. And you have reassured me, being able to tell me as much as you have." She sighed again. "Thank you."

“That’s good, I’m glad for that at least,” he smiled warmly. “I hope he makes a quick recovery. You’ll let me know how he is? I’ll pop back down and see him when he’s up to it,” he told her, friendly as ever. “Oh- And Annie is fine, like. Jake came and took the horses back to their stable, but I’ll jump down now and make sure she’s not feeling badly on it,” he said. And he really would, he’d explain the situation to Annie like he would a human being.

Ashley nodded. "Of course. I'll call you as soon as I have details if you'd like." Hopefully the recovery wouldn't take too long. She gave him another little smile.

"I'm sure she'll be glad to know he's going to be okay. Thank you." Growing up around very smart animals she didn't question Annie's ability to understand.

"Aye, that would be grand. And if there's anything I can do in the meantime, just let me know," he insisted.

He was glad that she didn't think him strange for the way he talked about the horses. "She was awful worried," he nodded. "Oh, and the little pup? He's fine as well. Jake took him off me, I'm not sure where he went after that, but he's in safe hands regardless."

Ashley nodded. "I will, and thank you again." She had been worried about Bingley but that was now one less thing to worry about.

"Dinna fash yersel, lass," he said without realising how ridiculously Doric he was being until it was out his mouth. He gave her a bit of a smile, and translated in a soft, caring tone. "Don't worry too much," he explained. He reached out and gave her shoulder a little squeeze. "See you soon," he said, giving her a nod before he left.
