Jessica had done little but throw her jacket on over the ratty tank top and jeans she’d been wearing before leaving the apartment toward Lucifer’s. If she weren’t already drunk she probably would have thought it either incredibly surreal or incredibly dumb that she had basically made a man claiming to be the devil himself in to a booty call, but she was just drunk enough that she didn’t care either way. She’d spent the day in New York, bringing as much alcohol as she could carry at one time back to her apartment, which was looking more and more like the store he had bought out, but while she’d been there she’d made the mistake of looking herself up. Looking him up. Finding out he was dead should have been a relief but everything that had seemed to happen leading up to it just made her want to drink even more. And maybe it was just knowing that Luke had left her, or maybe it was her making stupid decisions so she didn’t have to make harder ones, but she wanted not to think and the booze just wasn’t strong enough.

She followed his directions and found his apartment easily enough, knocking quickly once she got there.

	Jessica shrugged one shoulder. "True." He managed to get a bit of smile from her that time, "They're shit at listening too. You say harder and they just start grunting." Sure it wasn't a direct compliment but she was pretty sure he could read through the lines. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	"Because apparently grunting denotes extra effort." He rolled his eyes and took another drink before offering the bottle again. He acknowledged the almost compliment with a smile. 	She laughed and took the bottle, drinking deeply. "Is that good baby? You like that? Uh. Uh." She immitated, drinking again before handing the bottle back. 	Lucifer laughed at her imitation, then shook his head. "Absolutely pathetic." He took a long drink from the bottle. "Though it is pretty bad receiving it as well." He put on a falsetto voice. Jessica almost snorted with her laugh. She couldn't have said if it was the abundance of alcohol or the mind-blowing sex or the fact that he didn't seem to give a shit about any of her issues but she was more relaxed with him than she'd been with anyone she'd just met since she was a kid. "Some people take their porn way too literally. It's not a how-to documentary. And that daddy shit is just...fucked up. And that's coming from the queen of fucked up."

She hummed her agreement around the lip of the bottle. She was quiet for a minute, looking over at him. "So what comes with...all of that." she gestured toward him, curious. She had to admit that, after that performance, and some of the other things she'd seen around the station, she was more inclined to believe him than she had been the last time they spoke about it.

"Oh that. Well yes, to an extent. Some of my powers were given up." The ones that came with his wings. "I am immortal, and impervious to harm as you probably noticed." He grinned before taking the bottle and taking a drink. The detective wasn't around so he could live up to that, at least. "I also have a gift of learning your deepest desire. But only if I ask you for it directly." Only Chloe had ever been immune to his power.

"I can't make you do anything other than that. Once you tell me, the power wears off." He watched her for a second. "I can't make anyone do anything they don't actually want to do. Most people are relieved to get their desires out in the open. They don't have to hide it anymore." He took another drink and handed the bottle back. "Free will is far more powerful than anything I can do."

The tension in her shoulders eased a little bit but she took the bottle and downed a large swallow. "Good." she mumbled. Part of her wanted not to trust him, he could be lying about it all, but he hadn't actually done anything like it to anyone she'd seen him interact with and if he had the ability to, he would have had plenty of reason. "Why would the devil need to know what people want anyway. Isn't your job kind of the opposite?"

Lucifer chuckled softly. "Oh no. Desire plays a large part in punishment in hell. Also, I'm sure you've heard of people making deals with the devil." He grinned. "I have to know what they desire in order to make the deal. Though I never ask for their soul. Just a favor to be returned at a later date. I've actually had one or two make a deal with me and still gain entrance to heaven." The made a face. "Though I will say a certain wretched song has earned a well known fiddler a special place in hell."

	She raised an eyebrow and shook her head, taking another sip and handing the bottle back. She was calming down. Easing. She shrugged. "Product of genetic experimentation." she waved the bottle a little in front of her, like some sarcastic sort of toast before she took the last gulp. "Strength mostly. Heal faster, metabolize faster, move faster, can stand up to...most things. Sort of fly. Kind of. And this." she held out the empty bottle, "Takes about three times and much to get me to feel it and the buzz will be gone in an hour."

"It does eat in to my budget." she paused, "Well, it did." she gave him a bit of a grin, putting the empty bottle down on a table next to the bed. "When I can find someone else who can do it. And is willing." She'd never really had a hard time finding someone to have sex with her, that was easy enough for pretty much any woman in New York. But someone willing to have sex with her the way she wanted to, willing to really fuck her without thinking they were going to break her, that had proved much harder. "Oh and no gag reflex either, but I don't know if that has to do with the rest of it." she added with a bit of smirk.
