Steve had been wanting to take Michael out to the thermal baths or even to the beach but the weather turned cold before he made the final decision. Fortunately, they had the pools in the basement. He could spend some time with his son in the water and not have to worry about traveling through the cold. It was hard to believe that Michael was already almost a year old. Time definitely flew pretty quickly. As he headed down to the pool, Michael jabbered almost continuously in his baby talk. Steve swore he could understand a word every now and again but he figured it had to be his imagination. Or something Force related that he could ask either Micha or Kytana about later. He still felt a little strange living in the temple. He wasn't a Jedi. He didn't have any sensitivity to the Force at all, and yet there he was. Only because Micha and his son lived there. He certainly wasn't going to ask her to leave just to make himself more comfortable. He'd been dealing with it so far. One advantage to Michael taking after his mother was that when they got to the water, Steve didn't have to worry about holding the baby above the water. He stepped into the pool and lowered his son into the water and then just let him swim. Steve laughed as he watched Michael swim in circles around him. He wasn't as strong a swimmer as Micha, but he was just a baby. It was obvious to tell that he was enjoying himself, though. Steve wondered if maybe Michael felt more at home in the water than on the land. Maybe he'd be able to tell him when he started talking. |
