Who: Steve and Steve (this amuses me)
Where: The cottage
What: Some advice
When: After lunch
Rating: High due to topic of discussion
Open: maybe to older Bucky
Status: Ongoing
Lunch was finished and the kids were down for their naps. Mouse had agreed to make herself scarce and to listen for the kids if they needed anything. Steve was still sitting at the table in the kitchen, sipping a glass of water and fidgeting a little bit. He was nervous but he knew it was better to talk to someone than to speculate or do "research" on the internet. He drummed his fingers on the table as he tried to get his thoughts together.

"So tell him." Steve told him with a smile. "Or just keep climbing in with him. It might take a while but he'll catch on eventually." Steve grabbed the plates and stood up to put them in the sink. He opened one of the cabinets and pulled out a tin of chocolate chip cookies. They were a bit oddly shaped and a few of them might be a little crunchy on one side because he forgot about the hot spot in the back of the oven but he still thought they were pretty good. He set them on the table between the two of them before picking one up for himself, "I'm willing to bet he likes it better that way too."

Steve reached into the tin and took one of the cookies, nibbling on it a little bit. "You ever get that feeling like...your brain is completely useless even with just a quick brush of the hand?" He smiled a little. "One time, I was drawing and he just touched my shoulder as he moved past me. I had to stop for a minute." He chuckled.

"Yeah, yeah I get that." Steve laughed softly. "Last week I almost dropped half a dozen eggs cause Peggy held my arm when she reached around to take one and I forgot I was holding them.."

Steve grinned. "I don't even use the dish washer because I like doing the dishes with him. We switch off washing and drying." He covered a little cough that came out of nowhere.

Steve chuckled, "We do it too sometimes. Though I think half the time we just forget we have the thing." He picked up Steve's cup and refilled his water with the cough, grabbing a cup for himself too in the process.

"Thanks." Rather than the sips he was taking, Steve actually took a long drink of water this time. "When there's just a couple of dishes, it's easy to forget." He nodded. "It's kind of funny. Bucky said he was looking forward to having his own room but with me spending most nights in his room he technically doesn't." He grinned.

"I imagine it's a little different than when it's your younger siblings." Steve grinned and went in for another cookie, breaking it up in to pieces as he ate one at a time. An old habit from having to make his meals last as long as he could during the war when he wasn't sure when his next would come and his belly always seemed to be needing more. "Plus you guys have a whole apartment, oughta be enough space that he can find some if he needs it."

"There is that, yeah." He nodded. He took another nibble off the cookie and then made a face. "Can I ask you a weird question?"

"I think after the conversation we just had you don't need to worry about that." Steve teased.

Steve smiled a little. "Do you still.....have all your parts?" He tilted his head a bit. "Like....I had to have my tonsils out when I was younger and my appendix about six months ago...."

"Oh, uh, yeah." he sipped from his glass and went for another cookie. "There was some trouble with my tonsils when I was a kid but they didn't take them out as much back then. And we wouldn't have been able to afford it even if they wanted to so they did some other treatment that made it...good enough. Then the serum seemed to fix it." he shrugged a little bit, "I don't think there was ever anything with my appendix though."

Steve nodded. "I thought so, just wanted to ask." He chuckled a little.
