I must say, I do not think I've ever seen magic like this. Your chariots are impressive, and this device seems to massively decomplicate mass-communication. With it, the Blight would have been won in a day.

But there is a box in my [...] quarters, with ever-changing numbers and a door handle. When buttons are pressed, a light goes on, and a glass disc inside spins around for a determined amount of time. This box can be easily removed when the cord is unplugged from the power source in the wall.

What is it?

It would be hard not to be.

Are you from a world like mine?

After a fashion, yes, I suspect I might be. Or rather, not the world I came from, but one where I lived for much of my life.

The chariots are called automobiles, by the way.

But not from Thedas?

Can anyone steer these automobiles? I rather fancy having a go now.

No. It's called Narnia.

I don't think they're quite like the ones I'm used to, but you can probably find someone to give you lessons.

If you don't mind, I would very much like to hear about it.

It does sound like an interesting endeavor to pursue.

I noticed you asked about the dating system.

The calendar dates both forward and backward from the year believed to be the birth of Jesus Christ who is worshipped in the Christian religion. Most years that are given without a reference would also be written as A.D. 2019 (for Anno Domine, in the year of our Lord, or 2019 C.E. (Common Era) for 2019 years since that time. Dates prior to that would be written as 2000 B.C. (Before Christ) or 2000 B.C.E. (Before Common Era) for the number of years previous. Various religions and countries have used other dating systems over the years, but that is the most prevalent.

In Narnia, we dated the year from its creation. That was 2318 the last time I was ho there.

How are dates written in your world?

We borrowed, naturally, from the Tevinter Imperium and the Elves, but the current date - as far as I am aware of - in my world is 9:42, Dragon; the first number indicates that it is the ninth age since the formation of the Chantry, the 41th year of that age, and the age is called The Dragon Age. An age lasts 100 years, of which there have been ten so far (including The Ancient Age, before the foundation of the Chantry), and there are twelve months. I was born in Firstfall 9:15 Dragon, so that would make 26 years old.

I hope this was clear enough. I'm afraid I never quite got a chance to teach.

It's clear and quite interesting.

I was born in A.D. 1930 on my Earth. In 1940, I traveled to Narnia at the beginning of 1000 N.T. I lived there for fifteen years, and then returned to 1940 Earth as a nine year old again, making me... confusing. Legally, though, I'm nineteen.
