I am unsure if you saw, but Niklaus arrived this morning. He's...not the same man you two remember, he's changed. However, I would understand if you wanted him to stay as far away from you as possible and will notify him o leave you alone.

He's not as...selfish? Having Hope, that little girl--well, I suppose she's not so little more changed him. He wants to be a better man for Hope.

I wont get into all the gritty details of it all, but know this, he took an entity inside himself that would have destroyed his daughter and then willingly died for good in order to keep her--and the rest of us safe.

Damon is correct it does not change what he has done to you, nor does it get a pass for doing it, but you don't have to fear him here.

Oh...I can understand wanting to be a better person for your child and stopping at nothing to keep them safe- even at the cost of your own life. I hope that he is able to continue to do that for Hope. Second chances are rare, and I feel like we're all getting one here.

What he did to me...what he did to everyone I love, I can not forgive- which I'm sure you understand. But it is a comfort to know that we do not have to be worried about him being here.

Nor should you. I screwed you over just as much as anyone else. Had I kept my word to you all those years ago during the ritual...none of this would have happened,

But then again, Damon would have been dead from his werewolf bite, and I would not have my beautiful niece, and my family would not have awoken. So, I suppose I'm not sorry I did it, only sorry it ended up hurting you.

I do not expect you to forgive, or forget. I just want you to know you don't have to be afraid of him here.

You did it to save your family. I can't say that I wouldn't have done the same had it been Jeremy who was being kept away from me. You were right if anyone could understand the choice you made it was me. A lot of things would be different now if you hadn't done it. I don't fault you for it anymore, Elijah. I'm not sure if I ever really did.

I didn't exactly always keep my word to you either but thank you all the same.

I trust you. I always have despite everthing, and if you say that I don't have to be afraid of him here? I believe you.
