I've been thinking I should work on my demo reel. Part of me wonders if there's really any purpose in doing that while we're here, and part of me is like... you never know! Weirder things have happened! There were just leprechauns here!

So uh. If anyone has experience holding a camera I may need your talents. I'll be writing into your contract that I get to punch you in the face if you break my camera. I also need a duet partner. Preferably in a high baritone/tenor range. And I need someone who'll let me cover them in special effects makeup.

I have a day off tomorrow and it may be the last Friday I have off for the foreseeable future. So I was thinking we should do something and get to know each other better? One of the girls I work with was telling me about this thrift store she found and it's sandwiched magically between a little indie coffee place and a record shop so I was thinking we could hit all three if you're down?

	Isn't it? I think some people did. And some people seemed to really enjoy it. Personally, I just don't enjoy that much constant noise. If it had a six-hour off button or something, I might not have wanted to stab it repeatedly. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

There are comic books about you guys in the world I come from and, I gather from conversations that there's merch for the team in your world too. I can't say if they're the same comics, but that's irrelevant because... Y'know, there are comics about me in my world too and I know that what you read isn't always the truth. So I've kind of disregarded everything I read before meeting you guys because if it's only half the truth in my case, I imagine it would be similar in yours. I don't want to have preconceived notions of who my friends are. And I'm not sure if I want to tell you anything that you don't already know just in case it isn't true. So there's that.

Then there's what I've been told. Basically, you guys were all born on the same day at the same time under mysterious circumstances and Reginald gathered up the ones of you that he could and started relentlessly training you to be a superhero team. I know he was cold and unattached, that he acted more like a drill sergeant than a father. And I know you were mostly raised by an android mother and a highly advanced talking chimpanzee. I know that Klaus went through something traumatic in his training and that Vanya was told her whole life that she didn't have any power - which, in Reginald's eyes, equated to worth. ~~I know how that feel~~ Your successes were, essentially, the only thing that he cared about - not your needs or feelings or desires. ~~I don't have to imag~~ And I know that you guys parted ways on not stellar terms - or, mostly, because you went into the future. So you're older than the rest and still younger than the rest because of wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey things.

I cannot imagine vanya spilling family secrets went over well at all, likely worse than what we discussed, and yet, at least two of the others have decided to reveal this much information to someone? I'm smacking both of them on princ

I do not know that we were ever considered a team in any real sense of the word, but, yes, I recall quite a lot of various Umbrella Academy memorabilia. It's interesting that it exists in another world. Not knowing the details is likely for the best. ~~For now.~~

My brothers talk a lot. They aren't wrong, of course. I think we were all messed up by our dad in our own ways. I would personally consider Pogo to be more dad's assistant than someone who raised us, though I may be the only one to think this way.

That is one way to describe time travel. It definitely is wobbly.

That was how Klaus phrased it - raised by a robot and a chimpanzee. So part of the perception might just be personal affinity. But I wouldn't hold it against them too much. I've found that when you open up to people they open up to you too. And Klaus and I spent a lot of time together my first couple weeks here. There was a lot of time to just talk. That's something, I think, we both need, and probably a huge part of the reason we bonded so quickly.

If you want, I have the Lakewood comic with me. You're welcome to read it. I think we all come off a little more badass than we actually were, but the core information is all there.

I'm sure at least part of it also has to do with personal perspective. We all have our own minds and had our own relationships with all three of them. They all also had at least four more years than I with all three of them, which certainly helped form or break those potential bonds. I have no intention to hold it against them, but I do find it interesting. Certain aspects of our family have never been a secret while others were no doubt guarded for various reasons. (My disappearance, for instance. I don't imagine that was publicized by dear old dad.) But, I've discovered people do need people to talk to, and I'm glad Klaus had (and has) you. I hope Diego will learn he can speak with you, too, one day. Or more than you've already spoken.

Is that the one about you? It almost seems fair if you've read ones about us. And I can admit to not knowing much about it. It probably won't be the best introduction to you as a person, but at least we've met already. But I'll read it all with a grain or two of salt.

If it helps, I don't have a lot more information on that than what Klaus told me. You had a dog in the comics? Which I gather, since you haven't mentioned him, that you didn't actually have. Like I said, not letting what I've read color my perceptions of who you guys actually are cause things are different.

It's about all five of us. Me, Brook, our friend Emma, my best friend Noah, and then Brooke's boyfriend Stavo. It's sort of complicated, trying to explain what all happened, but the short version is that there were two, possibly three, serial killers active at the same time in our town and they killed a bunch of our friends. We were all attacked too, but we were the five who survived. That's what the comic is about - the killers stalking us and harassing the town. It's not a full account, but it's the one that got told and I'm comfortable with it.

That's a much more streamlined story. Twenty years ago, in Lakewood, a boy named Brandon James was framed for the murders of several highschool students. Brandon had Proteus Syndrom - like the Elephant Man - but he was a really sweet kid. His family was and is all really nice. One of the alleged victims who survived was Emma's father Kevin. Kevin and Maggie (her mother) were on a break and Maggie had a brief fling with Brandon during that time. Maggie got pregnant and had Piper. Piper was sent to an orphanage and grew up believing that her father had been unjustly murdered by the police and that her mother was ashamed of her. As an adult, Piper returned to Lakewood under the guise of investigating the murders that we would later find out she had been committing as revenge for her father's death and to get back at her mother and the half-sister she saw as having the charmed life she should have had. Her boyfriend, Kieran, also started dating Emma to get closer to her. But we didn't find out he was part of it until six full months after the first wave of murders when they started up again. Kieran came after Emma and I, specifically, because we shot and killed Piper.

Yeah. There are people doing actual terrible things in the world. And it wasn't like there weren't people working on trying to exonerate Brandon and prove that he didn't kill those kids. Which... we have pretty conclusive proof of now. Not that it matters, really. He still died. There are still people who'd rather remember the ghost story. The one thing I've learned is that people will always prefer the ghost story to the truth.

That's what my documentary was about - the one I used to apply to college. I had interviews with his mom and brother and with Maggie. I even had an interview with Piper before the murders ever happened. So, yeah. I knew. I just didn't know what she was doing. I should have, though. I should have put the pieces together. I'm supposed to be some great investigator, right? But I just refused to see it.

	I guess so, yeah. The apocalypse is a lot bigger than... I think Kieran was charged with fifteen murders in the end. Twelve is what he said I was responsible for. When he broke into my bedroom and wrote it on my ceiling in blood. That was a hell of a thing. I've never told anyone else about that. I have no idea why I just told you.
