A succulent. It's the group of plants that includes cacti and they tend to do well in dry climates, so they're quite easy to care for.

Some succulents aren't either. Or they are when they flower, but rarely do. They have thick fleshy parts to store water and some of them can go for years without blooming.

Groot is a very small tree alien. He's telling me I'm wrong but I'm not interested in learning the details. He'll grow into a larger tree eventually.
