We're not sure exactly, but even back home there were lifeforms plenty powerful enough to be considered gods. It doesn't seem to be malicious. We're not even sure if it's the same thing that's bringing us here or if it just decided to look after us now we've arrived.

All the kids either have specific guardians or live on the top floor with three people supervising. We keep an eye out for them.

Trying to figure out how these questions fit together is a real trip.

It's definitely not hell. Not sure what it's meant to be, but I know hell's supposed to be worse than whatever came before it.
