I think that's what a parent's supposed to be. Good to you, and maybe not always good to everyone else. They're the ones to hug you and tell you bedtime stories, pick you up when you've scraped your knee, and laugh at you when you're being silly, or sigh at you when you've done something bad but never for long. They like love you. Even if they're bad people.

I got kidnapped once... not too terribly long ago.

He told me stories about my parents torturing people. How they were the worst monsters hed ever met and that he was going to kill me slowly for all the wrongs that they did. Wolverine saved me. but its hard sometimes. When I think about them I think about how they tucked me in, or held me when I was sick or put bandaids on my knees and took me on picnics and read books... but then I also think of the things the man said and its... hard to combine the two.

So don't. Steve Rogers doesn't always have to be Captain America. Natasha doesn't always have to be spy. Tony doesn't always have to be the guy that created Ultron. And I don't always have to be Captain America, because sometimes I just get to be an asshole. And maybe your parents weren't always evil, because maybe you were the one good thing about their lives that allowed them to be soft and love you.
