So. The Burger King: Smash or Pass?

[Filtered to: Audrey, Five, Diego Hargreeves]

'Sup Diego. I'm Darcy. A little birdie told me that you were going through a difficult time and were possibly in need of some cheering up, so I thought I would offer my services as a Fun Stranger to get you absolutely plastered, if you so desired.

It's okay to say no. I understand that this is: 1) weird; and 2) sudden. But I believe in saying "Fuck it" often and at high volumes, though I try not to be an emotional terrorist about it. HMU if you're down.

I've never had my own before now, either. But I did my fair share of holding sad homesick teenagers’ hands in the past. It’s hard. You want them to be responsible, respectful, and all of that but even the best kid is going to try you. They’re at that stage where they want a friend, but they also need someone to reign things in when it gets out of control.

If you want to stay the person that they tell their real problems to then you’ve got to decide what’s worth getting into it over. Everything else will have its own natural consequence along the way, and they’ll turn to you to help set things right. Luckily for you, Peter seems smart enough that none of that is gonna be digging cactus spines out of his hands.

What did you do at home?

Peter is smart, but his good heart has gotten him into more than one scrape in our reality. Kind of why I'm a bit overprotective when it comes to him.

For what it is worth, I've never actually punished him. I yelled once and that was --- back in our reality. Something I regret. I don't think I have the heart to actually punish any of my kids. Most of them aren't even mine so --- yeah.

Private military contracting, but I was a marine before that. You’d be surprised how much of the job is taking away drunk teenagers’ keys and phones when you’re stateside. Some of them had never even lived outside their parent’s house before they enlisted.

He seems like a good kid. I can see why you want to keep him out of trouble. No one wants to see someone they care about get hurt if they can stop it.

Personally, I make mine clean when they’re bad. Nothing gives you time to think about your choices like scrubbing baseboards. Teaches them responsibility and I get clean baseboards.
