What are things that are “girl things” and what are things that are “boy things”? I can do a lot of the same things that Torunn can do, and Tony never made us only do boy things or girl things.

There was a girl in class and she had really pretty nail polish. I said that I liked that color and that maybe I would paint my nails like that because it looked cool and I really like the color red and she said that I cant.

So of course I was going to anyway so I didn’t eat lunch so I could take my lunch money to the store on the way home and buy nail polish, but the lady who takes the money said it was only for girls.

I think nail polish probably wasn't much of a concern when things were getting bad. But since you do have time and freedom to explore the things you like here, you definitely should.

The thing with gender based stereotypes is that girls can do a lot of things boys can do but it's harder for boys to do girl things without being judged for it. It's based in misogyny which is just ridiculous.

	If I know Tony, he'll just want you to be happy, Buddy. It's like how girls can wear pants all the time but a lot of people still don't like it if guys wear skirts. Men think it makes them "less" to look like a woman. Which is stupid. We all know Lyra could kick our butts and Betty is smarter than me any day. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)
