If anyone needs a safe space to hunker down while this is going on, you're welcome in our apartment. There's a spare bedroom and a sofa, plenty of floor space, an angel, and an emotional support cat. He's hairless. Allergy-free. We've got supplies but bring your own blankets.

And if there's an issue in anyone's apartment from the recent earth-rumbling, you can reach me here: [phone number]

Uh. Wow. That's [...] bald.

I'm not sure what I prefer, but maybe not [...] that.

Yep.

Like I said, not my first choice either, but he and I have come to a mutual understanding and he tolerated our friend's yappy dog pretty well so if we do get one in the future I'm sure he'll be fine with the addition.

Well, you know, very distinct personalities. Just like people. Some of them just don't get along well. You don't want to stress them out because they can't express themselves and their emotions the way people can. So you want to make sure everyone's a good fit with everyone else.

Yeah, kinda like that.

Ha! No, not at all. Though they say cats will when you die I've worked with a lot of rescue dogs and it's all about being gentle and easy with them until they trust you, just real soft and slow and quiet. And then training them is all about making sure you reward good behavior right away and you don't do anything to give any sort of attention to bad behavior. It's real easy.
