This is easily one of the best fics I've ever read. Ohhh my heart is in pieces. Snarry has never been my cup of tea, but this was utterly convincing and heartbreaking and wonderful. Thank you :)
Beautiful, beautiful work.

Thank goodness you are on my team! I am so in awe of your creativity and ability. Such a great, tight plot. Satisfying in every way, plus a happy ending. I teared up several times, and that's unusual.

This IS Snarry!

What a great story! Your young Snape was fantastic. I loved how you took his canon character and his background and added to it, fleshing him out even more, giving him even more depth and layers. Oh, how my heart ached for him. Really fantastic characterisation. And Harry, too! I loved him from Snape's POV, from his own POV - he was just wonderful. And the plot, and the way you twisted canon, while still keeping the story canon-compliant, was brilliant.

One of my (many) favourite moments was the hint that Dumbledore helped Snape survive despite his insistence that Harry should not alter the future in any way.

Oh, and your writing! So much love. Like, your use of parentheses - I think I have a thing for parentheses when they're used that well. *g* But everything about your writing was so engaging, it was such a pleasure to read.

Thanks for a wonderful story!

Just thought I'd let you know this made me stay up until the ungodly hour of 5:30 AM in order to finish... something a story hasn't been able to captivate me into doing for closer to a year. I am a huge fan of your Every Time You Leave fic, it's one of my top 5 favourtie Snarry for sure, so I was thrilled to see your name in the Snarry games and I've been waiting to see your fic appear. Heh, figures it would be the last. Oh wow. Well, I am pretty lost for words when it comes to telling you how I feel about the story. Everything fits together so well with the real cannon events. Snape waiting and loving Harry so fiercely for all those years is heartbreaking and amazing, and Harry desperately trying to save his life and how their short time together every year (or every several) makes them so unequivocally devoted - this fic shows that love really does leave a mark. It shows just how powerful love is. It's a beautiful story, going into my favourites for sure. You are such a talented writer and I sincerely hope to see more Snarry fanfiction from you in the future.

This is...wonderful. An amazingly true Harry, with his persistence no matter the obstacles in his path and his stubborness and his good heart...and a Snape (both young and old) who's so perfectly Snape in his fear and anger and hope that he must be real...somewhere. This will absolutely be added to my recs page at the next update. Fantastic work.

So utterly real! This is the Severus who lurks behind the Snape we see in canon: a working-class boy embittered and defensive, and so friendless he's talked himself into believing he prefers to be alone. Until he's confronted with another stunningly realised character: Harry with his guilt and his Saving People Thing and his sheer stubbornness all drawn in perfect, pin-sharp detail.

This is a masterpiece, a true tour-de-force, a triumph of characterisation and observation and emotional intensity.

Thank you for this gift.

This is a glorious, heart-rending, wonderful fic with one of the best Snapes I have read - 'a bundle of stinging nettles and self-righteousness' is a fantastic description of him. He was so bitter, damaged, savage and hurt. I loved the way he slowly came to realise that he was throwing everything away and that he couldn't live without Harry, and the ending was so utterly satisfying. Thank you! GO TEAM SNITCH!

Excellent story. I love your Severus and Harry. They're so perfect in their imperfections. You wove such a wonderful tale of Severus and Harry meeting each other over time and falling in love. The end, when Severus tells Harry that Harry ruined his life, just about killed me. It was so sad. Even when you brought Severus and Harry back together, I was still a little sad. Severus felt betrayed (rightly) and angry, but he still loved Harry. It was nice, however, that they were able to talk to each other and work out their differences.

I also like that Harry and Ginny got married but for the wrong reasons (actually, it's the reason I think they got married in canon - Harry wanted a family). They wanted a family and didn't really think through their scheme.

The ending was perfect.

This is the first Snarry, or HP at all really, fic that I've read in what must be over a year. But I saw a rec and it struck me, it caught my eye, and here I was, engrossed as though I'd never left HP, as though I were still caught in that thrill of fanlove for a world, because, for the span of your lovely, bittersweet fic, I was. That's a gift to a reader. Thank you.

I've finally had to opportunity to read this, and my god, is it lovely. I am so in love right now I can't pin point what it is exactly. The whole thing. Just - the tension and the distance and the hot and desperate sex. All of it! Just wonderful. Thank you.

I've been waiting for this since the first time I saw the list of authors months back!!! and was it worth the wait!!!
Beautiful. Absolutely Marvellous... Characterisation was spot on. I Especially loved angry young Snape. His loneliness left me with a lump in my throat several times.
Thank you SO much for this. Its going straight to the favourite's folder.

I have spent the past two days going back and forward reading this piece of pure art. I loved it in a sore and wonderful way.... ah... caught myself reading out the words aloud (and I have a 4-year-old, you gotta be careful, but it's SO well written).

Your style is artistic and it's more than a good fanfic, I hope you are earning money with writing and aren't a cleaner or something :P

I loved Nightwatch, too (Angus McSomething-Something was something I had to laugh at several times a day, even in the bus) but this one is... so good, so good.

Sev's breakdown at the beginning made me weep and his aunt made me laugh (I actually KNOW people like that). The smut was brilliant and sweet and very well written.

There is a tiny mistake in: (March. Severus is 28, Harry is 23.) a few lines later you say he is 27 when he is 28, just saying...

Otherwise it is perfect. I loved how well thought through it was, perhaps a little like the math formula of a prodigy.

I am enthralled and I love your writing, love it, love it, LOVE IT.

I only registered in IJ for being able to write a review.

Thank you.

I've been reading this pairing for a very long time, and this story easily became one of my favor. It reminds me (a little painfully) of all the reasons why I'm still in love with them.

I appreciate that you made this epilogue-compliant, too. I confess that even though the ending of the series frustrated me, and I generally hate "and they all had babies hooray" stories in general, I have a soft spot for stories that work with canon and still manage to give Snape and Harry a happy ending together. Thank you.

Mia, your stories always break me into pieces and then put me back together in amazing ways. That's really all I can say; I've never been a spectacular reviewer, but right now I'm pretty much incoherent. After every single one of your stories I've felt like I see the world differently. Thanks so much for contributing. <3,

So The End had me crying, and everything before that broke my heart and sewed it back together. The things here just make so much sense, the little detail and oh, poor poor Severus.
This was wonderful. Thank you for the amazing read. I loved it.

that was a beautiful, exquisite story! It reminded me a lot of The Time Traveler's Wife, but so, so much better! Perhaps because I actually care about the characters this time. Your Snape is so desperate and fragile, and your angst so achingly perfect...I can't get enough of your writing! Thank you for yet another piece of wondering fic:)

I was so excited to see a new fic from Mia Ugly, and it does not disappoint. The earlier ones were good, but this one is better. I read it a week ago now, so I have already forgotten the specifics (yes, sieve-brain I should change my id to). I also noticed a certain resemblance to the Time Traveler's wife, but I am glad the ending is not comparable. Rapture is quite the pleasure to read, thank you, thank you, thank you!

I should have left feedback for this last night, as thinking about this story kept me up anyway, but I approach it with fresh eyes this morning.

I'm quite new to the fandom, having just finished the the 7th book two weeks ago, so I've had the pleasure of diving into to really great fics that have been recced by others already. And, having plowed through about a dozen epic SS/HP in the last two weeks, I have been so spoiled with the quality of writing.

But this may the be the last/only SS/HP fic I'll need. I may be be finished as of right now. This fic hit ALL the buttons: Plot, characterization, and emotional resonance through language.

First, I think time travel is a fantastic plot device -- perhaps my favorite. It is especially effective for these two. Harry loathes Snape through the entire series, and we believe that Snape returns his feelings -- except, at the end, we realize, it's all, always been for Harry (and Lilly). There wasn't time in the books (or JKR didn't make time) for the full implication of this to hit Harry, although naming his son after him was huge. But I think time travel provides that moment, that space for Harry to really come to grips with who Severus was. All Harry needed was a moment to change his mind. All he needed was to see a young man, about his own age, struggling to live with himself. So the plot worked beautifully on two counts. We got to feel Harry's longing for Snape as he jumped through time. We knew how difficult it was for Harry to return to a time when Severus was dead. And we learned how Severus must have felt while all this was happening -- falling in love with Harry when they were both in their 20s, meeting Harry again when the boy was only 11 (and this was a punch in the gut to realize later why Snape was SO angry at the beginning, why he was sick with it), and knowing in that space of 10 years, that Harry was traveling through time and falling in love with him in his past, that Harry got to be with him, in a way, and Severus didn't. This was magnificent. YAY, TIME TRAVEL!!!

Second, I thought the characterization of Snape was perfect. The man is a bundle of complete contradictions, which is exactly why I love him. I find myself getting tired sometimes of Snapes seemingly endless snark and spite, and I wondered about it in places in this fic, thinking, god, is he going to kick Harry out, AGAIN? But every time he snapped and tried to hurt Harry with words, it felt right. Because Snape would hate falling in love. It would be the most horrible thing to happen to him because he'd be unable to do anything about it. Snaped loved Harry helplessly, especially as he grew older and his love became Harry's fault when Harry was off-limits. It was difficult and beautiful to watch unfold. As a young teacher myself, I fell in love with Severus as the 20-something potions instructor. So soon after his time as a Death Eater, I think he would have thrown himself into his job, so it was the perfect time for Harry to meet him, when he was trying to redeem himself. And Harry was lovely, too. I love this pairing so much, and yet, I'm never sure of Harry's characterization. Would Harry ever fall in love with Snape, because he does hate him so very very much. He's a slippery character to keep hold of, because he loves and hates so intensely, but then at times seems distant from all of it -- the hero of a story and nothing more. (I admit, I blame JKR for this. I feel like I know Ron and Hermione. I know Snape. But I don't really know Harry.) Anyway, I think canonically, the series left lots of a room for a fic like this, for Harry to realize what he and Snape actually share in terms of history and the intensity of their own emotions. So, I thought Harry was great -- passionate, good, sad, desperate, and completely in love.

Oh wow! I'm just so, so in love with this story! There were parts that I had to read slowly because I just did not want them to end and parts that I just caved and read quickly, then went back and read them over because again, I just didn't want this story to end. Brilliant and moving and tender, but in a Snape-y way!

Amazing. You had no right, no right to write such a poignant story! *__*
I really can't express how much I loved this, from the originality of the plot, to its all-encompassing way of being compliant with everything, while being complex and yet, in the end, so credible...

And then dear Dumbledore, always the master-mind, almost broke my heart in half and made me curse him when he denied Harry. So what a rush of pleasure, which left me light-headed and positively giddy with joy, upon hearing of two little potions one was advised to always carry around... *sigh*

Also, much love to your writing style, vivid at times, at others lyrical, and gosh, I never enjoyed allusions more than the "vampire-mania" one and of course, taht last beautiful one about a woman waiting for a train, what a fitting tribute. &hearts

This story is too beautiful for words - it simply awed me. So wonderfully romantic, sad and angsty in parts. I felt for both Harry and Severus and am so plesaed that the story had a happy conclusion for them both.
