wow, this was a very intense, wonderful story. very harsh at times: severus’s selfishness (both of them), the rape scene was awful (to be raped by the person you love must be the most awful thing), ... Severus felt very real and in character in that he’s never able to appreciate what he has, not when he has everything, not when he has harry’s love and suppport. I wanted to kick him, tear his hair out and shout at him for being so annoyingly inconsiderate and cruel! I got really emotionally involved - absolutely expert writing! I loved the way severus' feelings for harry change slowly as they develop a closer relationship full of ups and downs when I read the line ‘the truth is unutterable’ I thought it must be pretty bad, which it was - parallel worlds and harry’s sev being dead, oh my! I stopped reviewing your story when I didn’t get a reply anymore, so I left the rest of the story as surprise and wow - so much drama and pain and even though you made me cry, you also had me feeling elated when I finished the story (which I read in one go well into the morning hours hehe)...

Great story!

I spent so much of it wanting to smack Severus over the head, while also realizing what a sad and pathetic life he'd had to make him the way he was. I was pleased that Harry made him work for it once Severus started to come around.

I'll admit I'd suspected something of the sort when Severus unravelled the mystery. It was still heartbreaking to see Harry suffer (and Severus too; though he was still getting a bit of his own back). You did a great job of hiding clues and combining canon and fanon.

I'm glad they got a happy ending. They both deserved it.

Wow.

Thank you so much for writing this.

It took me three days to read and it was so, so worth it. It was a rollercoaster of emotions, and the plot was so well developed, the mystery kept so well-intact, I absolutely loved it. This was brilliant beyond words, and the ending was as perfect as the story itself. Bravo!

This is mind blowing, epic and a journey that I will want to take over and over again. There was so much going on but at the same time, you tied it all beautifully at the end. Wow. You had me as ignorant to the truth as Harry, with your beautifully constructed mystery with all the hints and clues along the way. What I loved about this is that as complex as the ideas behind it are, so are the emotions that it evoked in me. I didn't know if I should be, as a reader, happy or sad at how everything turned out. Was it a right decision? Was it unfair? I bet it was ultimately, much much harder for our protagonists to decide how they felt about everything, being forced to live through it.

This was a most glorious read. Thank you.

FINALLY had a chance to finish this. OMG SO LONG BUT SO GOOD!!!

Okay, let me just preface this by saying that you get an entire box of gold stars for your forehead for this. In six years of fandom, this was the longest story I've ever read. 96k?!?! My GOD, how long did this take you to write? And I was never, ever bored. I was always rapt with attention. I loved the mystery, the tension, the UST, OMG, when Snape kept jerking the rug out from underneath Harry... I was feeling part sadistic love for Snape's cruelty and part wanting to cuff him on the head for doing that to Harry. AND THE DOCKING... *melts* I included a docking scene in my Games fic last year, and there is never enough docking out there in fandom. And, I mean, how can anyone resist two hot men playing with their foreskins, I ask you? *G*

I will be reccing this on my journal either tomorrow or Thursday. I'll have even more to say then. Just loved this so much. Are you on LJ? Why haven't I seen your name before?!?!

I finally finished this today. I couldn't read any others until I finished it because I wanted to give it the attention it deserved. I couldn't wait to finish and yet I hated to see it end. So much mystery along with the bittersweet anxiety of Harry searching for his lover within Severus. The way you constructed the intricacies of the story was truly remarkable, rebuilding the relationship until it fit this pair and how each reacted to the truth. This is a keeper.

Truly excellent work. Thank you.

lksdfasdf THIS STORY IS SO BRILLIANT! YOU'RE BRILLIANT! THANK YOU!

AH! You had all those little details that deviated from canon. And I just brushed them aside assuming you were only taking bits and pieces from the last book. It's so awesome.

I love your Harry all grown up. Coming without a touch? Hottest thing EVER. And the way you described their original relationship? So loving and such a contrast to Harry and Snape's relationship at the moment. It gave me so much hope.

Essentially you're brilliant and I'm so sad to see this go for team cauldron, but also so happy to see it posted in the games~

Thank you so much for such an amazing read. I can tell the immense amount of talent and hard work put into such an amazing fic and I have to say this has been one of the best I have read in years and I have been in the fandom since 2004. This story left me physically aching and I was floored by how quickly you pulled me in and made me feel for the characters, the ache was just that palpable.

You had me hooked with just your summary. Something about the way you write and the skill with which you present a story. I also had an inkling towards the end that there was much more intention in this story and that given sufficient time, there might've been a few more K's in your word count ;) and the ending would have left no questions to old Severus's intentions. I really do not mean any offense while saying that and if I am wrong, then I only mean that I would love love love to read an extended version of this story if you should ever come back to it.

*content sigh* Now I am going to sit back for a little bit and relax, just like I would do after finishing a fantastic novel.

Up until now I have had no time to read this story in one go (when I start to read something I absolutely must finish it without any break), so I decided to postpone reading it. Now I wish I hadn't. Had I any idea this fic would be so good, I would have read it straight away, even if I had to go to sleep at 5 a.m.

You constructed such an amazing and interesting plot with so many twists and mysteries and you didn't forget about anything. Everything that needed to be explained was revealed. Writing such well-constructed plot must have been difficult. Yet you did it perfectly. But that's not everything. I mean the plot is awesome but let's not forget about the characters. Your Harry and Severus or should I say Severuses were absolutely perfect. I loved how their relationship progressed - slowly and without rushing things and with Snape being such a absolute bastard at the beginning. I love that you kept both of them in character.

I loved the scene in which Harry tells Severus about the Prince and the fox. I loved the French quotes. Loved the sex scene in which Severus watched Harry so avidly, taking pleasure just from pleasuring Harry and was so engrossed in him that didn't climax straight away. He only had eyes for Harry and Harry's pleasure, not his own was what mattered most. That was beautiful.

I cannot even describe how much my heart was breaking with Harry's when he found out the truth. The words: "I don't want a new Severus! I want my Severus!" made my cry. And that was not the only moment I cried.
God, this story is so emotional, so heartwrenching and even kind of bittersweet when I think about Severus who died and the other Harry who will never have a chance with Severus. But even though this fic is so full of painful scenes it's also tender, sweet and full of hope for Harry and his Severus - his husband and their child. It's beautiful story and I can say with utmost conviction - one of the best (if not the best) snarry I have ever read. I love absolutely everything about it. There is no single thing I do not like. It's brilliant! Absolutely perfect!

I usually do not write so long comments but I had to tell you how much I enjoyed reading this story and I just couldn't do this in two or three sentences. What you wrote is something big and it deserves, you deserve nothing less but the biggest praise and the highest score (9,9,9) for your work.

Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful story!

You are a truly great author!

I finished this story a couple of days ago (just didn't get the chance to comment earlier) and it took me about five days to read it, too, but it was so worth it. It was like reading a good book and looking forward to coming back to it every evening after work. Thanks for keeping me company with your awesome story during this very busy week. :)

I'm really amazed that you wrote this in such a short time. Not just because it was so long (96k? wow) but because it was so long and so well written and the plot so well structured and thought out. I loved how you had so much detail, and usually that amount of detail bores me, but here? Not once! I don't know how the hell you did it but you made it all engaging and riveting and kept my interest throughout - and me glued to the screen, devouring everything. *g* Plus, it was never detail just for the sake of it, it always had a purpose for being there.

I fell in love with your Snape voice at once. (And his horrified reactions at the situation he found himself in at the beginning made me snicker quite a few times! *g*) Snape was such a mean bastard for a huge part of the story, so petty and cruel and jealous, he felt so canon to me - exactly my favourite kind of Snape. But even later, when he mellowed out, it was a slow build up to that, making the progression of the change believable.

Your Harry was great too! Even if he weren't really our canon Harry, he was still Harry and I couldn't tell the difference. I felt so bad for him and I loved him for the way he reacted to Snape all the way, trying to be understanding at first but then not forgiving Snape his cruelty.

Back to the plot - wow, that was amazing and a brilliant mystery! I enjoyed it so, so much. Even though I had peeked at the comments and was vaguely spoiled, I still never really guessed where you were going. The differences from canon regarding the deaths of some characters did give me some clues but I just kept wondering "maybe the story is just AU?" - I never really guessed!

And it was still so exciting to see Snape and Harry in my city. :) (Damn, where was I last year when they were wandering around Athens??? ;) )

I admit I'm not a fan of too romantic happy endings with families and babies, and my favourite parts of the story were the darker ones, but that's just a matter of personal taste. This is a fantastic story, I loved it and enjoyed it immensely and I'm really, really impressed with the whole of it. And so glad to have it on our team! :D

How lucky we Team Cauldron folks are to have, of necessity, stolen you away from Team Snitch! Seriously, whichever "team" you technically belong to, this is an amazing contribution to Team Snarry.

The truth is that I was predisposed to enjoy the story just based on length alone, but this is really quite an achievement. The mystery is wonderfully constructed - or at least I had no idea what the truth was (I just assumed this was something of an AU). However, when the mystery was solved, all the little differences made perfect sense, even down to Harry's inexplicable talent with potions preparation.

As for the characterizations...I cannot tell you how much I hated Snape for a while there. I gave him time to recover from his illness, to cope with what I assumed to be amnesia, and then...I couldn't stand him and had no idea what Harry was doing with him (which...is canonically perfect, truthfully *g*). But then when Harry finally put his foot down and said "no more?" I cried and wanted them together. :)

Anyway...this is really great and well worth the million hour investment I made in it.

(BTW, I'll be adding it to my recs page at the next update.)

I have had this fic open in a tab since it posted, and I've been sneaking in scenes here and there as I have a chance. One day I will have to go back and read it all in one go, but let me just tell you that this fic, even as piece-mealed as I read it, took my breath away with the absolute brilliance of it. It was such a stunning fic. I just... *flails* For one thing, I could barely believe it when I actually finished it today. I wanted to cry. This fic is my friend now, lol, it's been in my life for so long. It hurt to shut it down and know that there would be no more.

Just, seriously, kudos to you. The plot was fantastic, the pacing was flawless, and gah, it had everything, EVERYTHING I love in a fic. Such an awesome read.

I absolutely LOVE this story. It was such a great ride. I was up until 3 am to finish it, and I distinctly remember, after this being recced, me going to check it out and exclaiming "oh shit!" at seeing the stories length! You accomplished this in two months? That is simply amazing, I don't know how you had such a drive to write like that, but thank god you did!

I do have one or two questions though from reading it, I'm just wondering your opinion or maybe I somehow over looked when the issue came up again. At the start, when Snape is finding hidden areas in his room, he finds some kind of artifact at the start, he doesn't know what it is, so he hides the whole table again, does that ever have any importance later on? Do we find out what he'd been looking at? When Snape finds the photo of Harry in the vault with numbers on the back, does that every have an importance to the story, and also, what was going on with Harry being so upset that Snape had taken his picture sleeping? Was it before they were in a relationship or something?

For a little con-crit (I hope you don't mind...?): I would not have had the opening scene you did, it was pretty obvious to me that Snape was from a alternate universe the whole time, the "when he felt his soul slip towards nothingness, the enigmatic pull reversed and air flowed into his lungs" pretty much gave it away... I think it would've been a little more mysterious without that bit. If his death hadn't been such a focus at the start, it may have had more speculation on if he was from a different universe... the other thing was that Snape never died by Nagini in the universe he found himself in, but since that is the last thing he remembers, I find it hard to believe that he never went over these details carefully trying to understand why it was 6 years he'd forgotten (especially after that women brought it up) and how in all that time, Harry and him could not have tried going over every little detail. Snape himself had even said to the portraits flat out that the last thing he remembered was Nagini's bite... so anyway, I guess what I'm trying to say here is that I would have liked a scene where this was brought up, but somehow worked around so that either Snape was reluctant to talk about it (I know this happened at first with the bit about "leaving the past in the past" (or at least I recall something like that...) but once he really started trying to figure out what had happened, it was never brought up again... or maybe the issue of who was there (Charlie) somehow never would come up.

I am sorry to go on so long about such small issues, this was really a fabulous story, probably my favourite from the games! You are so talented! I am going to be checking out your other fanfiction when I get a chance!

This is a bit late, but I finally have some down time from moving into school and I just had to leave a review, because this is the absolute hands-down BEST fic out of all the wonderful fics this round.

There are so many things I love about your story, I don't even know where to start. I love the creativity and originality of the plot - I had never read an AU or time-travel piece quite like this, and would never have imagined anything like this on my own! An alternate-dimension Snape that is not quite Snape but still IS...mind-boggling! lol. And such a great take on post-DH, giving the development of their relationship completely different nuances and flouting all the conventions! Awesome!

Also, I love your Harry. I absolutely adore how mature and grown-up he is, without being boring or annoying. The way he could concede miles to Snape out of the depth of his love for him, while at the same time not giving an inch when it comes to demanding respect. I have read too many fics in which there is an imbalance in the Snarry dynamic, and I love that you still manage to retain Snape's in-control persona and the characteristic dynamics of their relationship without making Harry an obvious sub.

And of course, I really enjoyed your Snape characterization. I loved how nasty he was in the beginning, and the way he took advantage of the situation was just so in character. I hate a boring or too-nice Snape. It made his determination to win Harry back later all the more fun!

And did I mention, the plot itself is to die for. Rarely have I come across a snarry fic with a mystery so engrossing and page-turning that the snarry relationship becomes almonst a side-concern at times. (But of course the strategically placed sex scenes make sure that never compeltely happens...) Every new twist in the plot took me by surprise and everytime I thought I figured it out, there are new developments!

Now I can't wait to read your other fics (one of which looks satisfyingly long and epic)!
