Unbroken_Halo—Harry as a healer is such a great occupation for him and naturally he's got special skills, just perfect. Loved Minerva's role in this as well, taking care of Severus (the ever cranky patient!). The letters were a great way to show what was going on in the different threads of the story. I think Harry's skill at Euthanasia was rather inspired actually though I am glad Severus didn't end up going that route as kissing Harry seemed like a much better idea! Clearing Severus's system of the dark magic was so vivid. Glad Harry finally gave in to Severus's advances. Well done.

Someoldcat—You managed to catch Severus's concern/fear while Harry assesses the damage beautifully. His wide eyes and pale face such a contrast to Harry's apparent calm. And I always (always!!) love the moment before a kiss, Severus's eyes having fallen shut and Harry still not yet succumbed. Very nicely done.

Thank you! I am so glad this worked for you. I like to try and turn cliche's on their ear and I am thrilled it worked this time.

I was equally enthralled by Someoldcat's work and couldn't have been more excited to see that she had chosen the fic.

I really like how you've written Harry as a healer. It's not the most common occupation for him to take, but every time he's written as healer it always seems the most appropriate thing for him to do. I also like how you've written his magic and how it works with everything else as far as his control of it and how he uses it and what for, and so forth. Severus is excellent and I really enjoyed the banter back and forth between him and the other characters, Minerva and Harry especially.

The artwork is gorgeous. I love the use of the colours with the tan background; I also like the use of the reds and purples with Severus' cheeks and eyelids. It's quite life-like.

Well done, the both of you.~Sophia

Thank you! I always try to do something different when I tackle a trope in my writing. I am so glad you enjoyed this.

And yes, Someoldcat's art was extremely gorgeous! I was thrilled she picked me and loved the two scenes she chose to illustrate.

Unbroken Halo:
Thanks for your story! I really love Powerful!Harry stories. Lecherous!Severus is to die for, too! What is really delightful is watching Severus overcome so much of his baggage, and a mature, Harry helping him through it. And I love seeing Harry as something other than an Auror or DADA teacher.

someoldcat:
I adore the expressions on the faces in the bedroom scene. Severus looks so frightened and overwhelmed, and you can really see the patience on Harry's face. I think some of the power of the scene is in the bold lines. Severus's expression, the lines of his bed clothes and linens, the way his hand seems to twitch, all adds to the tension, his panic. The Lecherous!Severus picture--the heavy-lidded eyes, the sensuality in his face--yummmmmm!

Thank you both unbroken_halo and someoldcat. I like Severus's brown hair. :) It's just fantastic. And their faces are meaningful.
I haven't read in a long time story where Severus was ill due to Nagini's bite and Harry was the one to heal him. It was very nice to have the oportunity to read such.
Thank you!

Unbroken_halo: What's NOT to love about powerful!Harry/lecherous!Snape?? You played it so well, here, and my favorite scene was when Harry was administering the "kiss" and it turned into a real kiss. Severus was so ready to go...but not. I thought you used Minerva perfectly in this story (and I have a weakness for Severus and Minerva as friends). How Severus behaved after leaving her care was so Severus as well. Harry as hands-on Healer was also inspired - how he got into the shower with Severus so easily and almost clinically and I giggled at Severus trying to cover himself with a washcloth. :) He sure changed his tune later, and the suggestive talk (Harry getting him "up") was fun too.

someoldcat: I always love your Severus and love the pieces you've done here (despite the lack of...um...nakedness. lol). I love your older Harry and OMG the expression on Severus' face in the first piece and Harry's in the second. Just perfect. You draw Snape so much like I imagine him from the books - flawed, big-nosed and imperfect yet flawed and very human.

Kudos to both of you on this piece!

Thanks! I've always liked the powerful!Harry trope and turning cliches on their ears in different ways is always fun. And yes, I so agree that Severus needed friends in Hogwarts as an adult besides DD. Minerva is the perfect straight woman for that.

I truly loved this from beginning to end! Adored your cantankerous Snape, just resisting Harry at every turn through so much of the story...and I held my breath at "the kiss"...I knew it would probably not turn out the way I expected but I wasn't sure! The twist was a delightful surprise. Whew!

Minerva is another one of my favorite characters and you used her magnificently here. Great job, hon! Lovely story!

Someoldcat...I know this pairing isn't your ship but you sure couldn't tell it from your illustrations, because their connection was *definitely* there! I do love your Severus and your older Harry so, so much and your expressions capture so much emotion...both pieces were fantastic additions to the story. Great job!

Thank you! I'm so glad you enjoyed the story. I like to think that despite his grumpiness Severus did have friends among the staff besides Dumbledore.

This was so enjoyable, but what really sang was your wonderful characterizations - Severus as self-isolating as always, except once he's given in to something that seems almost inevitable. I love how he slowly reveals his playful side to Harry, and I really adore Harry's confusion (and eventual acquiescence!) in the face of it. I have a real weakness for healer!Harry, and what you did with him here - the intuitive magic - was lovely and innovative. I'm always so happy to see Minerva make an appearance in Snarry, and protective!Poppy is also such a favorite - you've really hit all my bases. Lovely, lovely work.

Someoldcat - It amazes me that even with a character with whom you're so intimately familiar, you still manage to give him expressions that I don't recall seeing in your other work, and which fit in so beautifully here. You equally capture Harry's confusion and the way he's just a bit out of his depth here really wonderfully - just lovely work.

Wow. I think I'd never seen Snape flirting that way with Harry, it was awesome! I loved so much your Harry, so professional and kind but hard with Snape when it was necessari. Loved Minerva too, so much.

The art. What can I say? I can see your art wherever and I know it's yours ^^ I know it's not your OTP but I really love your Harry. The first scene was amazing, a concentrated Harry and Severus' expression. And the other, oh, their faces!!! Thanks dear!

unbroken_halo – delightful hurt-comfort, I like the thought of Harry as a healer very much, an extension of his 'saving people thing'. Minerva's part in it was great, too, I'm amazed she put up with Severus for so long! The Healer's Kiss (as opposed to the Dementor's Kiss) was an inspired, if rather chilling, idea – I'm so glad it turned into a more conventional, and less deadly, kiss for Harry and Severus.

Someoldcat – beautiful illustrations, I wish you'd do more Snarry! I always love your vision of Severus, and here he is with a mature Harry who fits with him perfectly.

I feel a bit odd commenting on my own entry but since I can make it for Easter, it's not so bad.

Thank you again, darling, for choosing my fic. I know I have squeed several times and can't say what an honor it was to see the scenes you picked. I love how you draw Snape and to see him here is simply gorgeous. I love how ill he looks when Harry is checking him over and the apprehension I tried to put there really comes through brilliantly.

The second scene of the kiss is fantastic. I love the change between them. How the uncertainty sits on Harry's face and how he comes across as a bit more mature but still having the vibrancy of youth. The healthy blush on Severus shows how far he's come in his recovery and it is simply wonderful that the innocence of the first kiss between two people can still put that look on him.

Thank you, thank you, again for the wonderful art for my fic.

When I saw that you were one of the authors in this fest I couldn't wait to see what you had written for us. Your talent is amazing, but this story was truly wonderful. The art set the scene for your story beautifully and makes your heart beat just a little faster.

I have to say though - that scene where Harry was about to perform the spell to let Snape "move on" had me so tense, I literally had to restrain myself from reading ahead to the end. Loved it, loved it, loved it. But learning that Snape wouldn't heal until HE WANTED to heal - genius!!!

I especially loved Minerva and Poppy in this story, two of other favorite characters and you portrayed them perfectly.

Thank you for your time and talent. It was truly a fabulous read.

Unbroken_Halo - Lovely story:) Harry as a Healer always warms mmy heart, and when he treats Severus it is an added bonus. Lovely turn with the kiss, had to remind myself for a moment, there was no character death warning...

Someoldcat - both illustrations are gorgeous. Severus' uncertainity in the first panel is palpable, and Harry's wide-eyed stare in the second made me smile:)

Halo! This was so lovely! I like Minerva in general, and I positively adored how you portrayed her here. You made her so multi-faceted, so loyal to Dumbledore and determined to do the right thing by Severus, yet still oddly vulnerable.

And, Harry! I LOVE that you gave him time to grow up. He was so adorable and determined to do the right thing and stay the course, and Severus certainly did not make it easy for him. *grin*

Just a lovely story, bb. #loveit

Someoldcat, bb, you already know how much I love your Severus. But after this? I am so, so sad that you are not all over the Snarry ship. I love how you aged Harry, yet kept him the same wide-eyed and earnest boy we all fell in love with. And in the moment before the kiss? I love how you have Severus' eyes closed and Harry all, "i should stop this now, but I just don't want to."

I finally got around to reading this! *smacks self*
I swear, it's going to take me a year to read everything in this fest. *rolls eyes*

ANYWAY. Your fic! *g*

Your Minerva was kick ass! *loves* She certainly gave Severus a run for his money. As did Poppy. :)
Those letters were such a clever device. I love reading new interpretations of magic, and having Harry be an intuitive healer was a really interesting twist. :) This was a fascinating look at their relationship.
Nice job, hon! One of your best I think. :)

And Someoldcat!
You mature Harry was lovely and Severus' vulnerability was beautifully depicted. :) Well done!
