PLOT WEEK!

Here, have a little game wide plot, from us to you! We've got characters from quite a few different fandoms, obviously, and we want to give some characters the opportunity to showcase their fandoms a bit --if their muns so choose!-- along with providing a little plot and insight as to why everyone's being dragged to this world.

So, what we're going to do is this: NYC has had a spike in crime rate since all these newbies have started arriving. This is all well and dandy because it's been bad, but low key enough for the local heroes to handle. But that's about to change. Over the course of the next week (or a bit shorter, depending on how many people reply saying they'd like to have a go) characters will start to run into minor villians from their own universes.

What's this mean? Well, we don't really mind, so long as no one's running into Lord Voldemort or anything. In that vein, characters from the Potterverse could run into dementors or death eaters. Who and Torchwood types could run into any variety of alien or a dalek or three. Our two from Batman Beyond might run into some Jokerz, while the Buffy/Angel/True Blood types might notice an uptick in vamps out for a kill. Everyone should feel free to notice an increase in 'average joe crimes (muggings, robberies, stickups, car jackings-- all sans powers!) or even be part of one. That's just a series of examples, but I think you get our gist? Once the week is over your characters will notice a leveling out of crime levels, but a lot of these villians and big bads will keep turning up within the boundaries of NYC. In otherwords, characters are going to be running into a lot more than your average criminal from now on, so buckle your seatbelts.

Basically, the next week is crime and violence week, and in result? Some characters will get to kick a little ass, perhaps save some characters not gifted with life-saving abilities or skills, and everyone will have the chance to meet some new people. Oh, and at the end, maybe everyone will find out a little something about why they're here.

We'd like to gauge interest in participation by having people reply to this post with which baddies you're thinking of dragging in and use it as a plotting place if you'd like. For those characters that don't necessarily have villians to drag in, this is the perfect opportunity to maybe plan a rescue or encounter with someone else. For the purposes of this week, you should only drag in and NPC baddies from your own fandoms-- ie, while Jack Harkness and Cinderella could absolutely be facing a bunch of Gepetto's wooden soldiers together, Cinderella's player would have been the one to make the decision to bring them in. However, after this week anyone can run into a vampire, wooden soldier, alien, or whatever while wandering the city and NPC them as need be.

EDIT!: So due to a slight bit of confusion I'd like to clarify the last rule! While anyone can run into villains of any fandom after this week is over, it should be noted that you can only run into the villains that the players brought in! So, if player A brings in Villain A from their fandom and not Villain's B, C, and D, Player B (who does not have a character in that fandom) should not take it upon themselves to introduce Villain's B, C, and D. Only Villain A is up for grabs!

So, to sum up:
-- It's action week!
-- Fandom minor villians to NPC! We want you to bring them in!
-- But only bring in villians from your own fandom!
-- Don't bring in and fight off anyone who someone might want to play later-- like an actual character. Saying you're fighting off Death Eaters is fine, saying you're fighting off Death Eater Peter Pettigrew is not. Generalise!
-- Reply below to express interest!
-- Feel free to start posting on Sunday; you'll see a post up from some of my characters as well!
-- Participation not mandatory, but it might be hard to avoid ;-)
-- Also reply with any questions you might have, because I didn't have my mod partner read this and tell me if I've been confusing. I am usually confusing. So. Blame the timezones!
-- Have fun!

<3 Kendra

Death Eaters would be okay, too, since they're not the sort of mindless creatures that Dementors are. My guess is, Severus won't be attacking nameless Death Eaters, though. Too much risk involved since he's early in his career with them.

Oo, true. Well, it's an idea that can be tossed around!

Also, cursed items maybe?

I thought about cursed items, but didn't know what/where to go with that. But it would definitely be a possibility, especially since anything can be cursed.

Just thought of poltergeists, too. Like Peeves. The big problem we'd have with a lot of magical creatures is that most of them aren't visible to Muggles. Now that I've thought about it, Boggarts aren't.

Poltergeists aren't visible to anyone unless they chose to show themselves.

Okay. FINAL IDEA AND COMMENT. We bring in two villains.

1) Boggarts. The mods are probably going to go with whatever gets brought over is visible to everyone magical or not. Boggarts are fun since they reveal some of the psychology of the character. They have to be subdued by a magic user with Riddikulus, but they're not going to do a butt ton of irreversible damage to non-magical folk. They're mostly scary and a bit annoying.

2) "Dark Wizards". If we go with that title in general rather than Death Eaters specifically, it could be a ton of people from multiple countries and different time periods. Though they could cast a multitude of spells and do all sorts of damage to people, they can also be fun for non-magic users because they could be stopped by guns, which means more hero-types from more fandom universes could NPC them/face them/save people from them.

Re: Boggarts, actually, can you cut them up? >.>;; Because if say, Locke meets a boggart, and he is by no way a wizard, how does he defeat one, right?

Probably? We never saw what would happen in canon if one was physically attacked. I'm not sure if they even really have a corporeal form since they're not really even visible by non-wizards in canon, which suggests they're made of magic. But if a non-wizard meets one, they wouldn't really have to be defeated, since they can't do anything but make noise and become the form of whatever it is the character is most afraid of. They don't gain that thing's abilities. Mostly they just live in dark places and annoy the crap out of people and feed on fear. The mods would have to establish in the canon of the game what would happen with physical attacks.

Well, I suppose we can just leave it to the mods to decide about that, yes. XD Although the more I think of it, the more I am starting to believe that they can be attacked like regular monsters. 'cause like, what if someone's boggart is a real person and that someone knows how to fight, right? (Of course, I am thinking from the perspective of my non-wizarding boys, sorry. >.>;;)

No. It makes sense. Severus' boggart is his father, but since it's something that he learned in school and his father is Muggle and isn't going to be walking about Wizarding London, he realizes this, thinks of him in drag, and casts the riddikulus spell when he runs into a boggart. I'm not even sure that Severus would think of trying to physically fight his father.
