Who: Pamela Isley + Ianto Jones + OTA
When: July 25th, early afternoon
Where: New York Botanical Garden
What: Pamela takes a stroll...and a few clippings
Rating/status: Lord knows with this lady.

It had been so long since she had been here. Three weeks, almost.

The employees knew her by name. She was a regular, and thanks to her profession and rather powerful boss, her admission was always waived.

Beyond the other patrons, the gardens were simply perfect. Glass ceilings, rows of flowers that stretched out into forever, nothing but the sound of air and the very essence of life surrounding her. And healthy, too! All the plants well maintained, well loved. Pamela could feel a hum of happiness, and just the presence of so many growing things perked her spirits to their fullest. Her eyes blazed green, and even her skin seemed to shimmer with health.

If it weren't for the trail of men (three of them - a groundskeeper and two patrons) following her around, it would be an almost perfect day. Sunny, bright, with the smell of an evening rainstorm lingering in the atmosphere. She could spend weeks - hell, months - here.

And one of these days, she planned on doing just that.

So with a wink to the men and a quick left turn, Pamela ducked into an empty corner of the rose garden. If this Black Apple boutique were to be successful (and oh, would it be), she would need to start experimenting. There were only so many plants to work with at work. Covertly, she pulled a small pair of scissors from her cleavage. Grabbing the stem of a full bloomed Caninae, she went to clip.

"It'll only hurt for a second, darling. Shh," she whispered, motherly.

She stuck the clipping in her purse. One down, two dozen to go.

He laughed, louder than he intended. Her response wasn't even that funny, but he felt the need to be clever and amiable. He couldn't pin-point why, and although it made him incredibly uncomfortable he also couldn't make himself pull away and walk out. He wanted to stay near her and that unnerved him too. His Torchwood instincts told him to leave.

But he remained there.

"No," he replied, shaking his head. "Nothing so interesting. I just did the filing, brought coffee. Simple things. It's what I do for Tony too. I make his appointments, file his paperwork, ensure he's happy. It's not really glamorous, I'm just good at taking care of people."

Pamela's face fell visibly. Filing his paperwork...well, that might yield some interesting information, but otherwise it was hardly worth kissing him and risking an overdose. What a headache that would be, having to stash his body somewhere. Nevertheless, he seemed a good man to know, just in case. She was determined to get his phone number.

"Do you ever go shopping for him? Buying things for his myriad girlfriends?" she asked coyly, drawing a piece of paper from her purse instead of the lipstick tube. She scribbled a number down.

He still felt a little giddy, but his brain had mostly cleared now. It wasn't nearly as overwhelming, but he was inwardly trying to figure out what had provoked such an uncharacteristic response in him. Normally he was so calm and clear-headed, and with Gwen and Jack waiting for him at home he didn't really need to flirt. He didn't want to flirt. Ms. Isley was a beautiful woman but Ianto didn't have a roving eye.

"Occasionally," he said with a nod of his head. "Although Mr. Stark does like to be personal with such things. If I do those type of errands for him he usually has something in mind. I'm just run the errand or arrange it." Tony might have been a womaniser, but he was excellent at it. Ianto doubted any of his dates would complain about him not being a gentleman.

She kissed the piece of paper, leaving a bright red lipstick mark, and handed it to Ianto.

"That's the address of the Black Apple Boutique, a little store I run with my business partner. Stop by sometime - we'll give you a nice discount on whatever you fancy for your girlfriend," she cooed with a wink.

It was perfumed, the scent of magnolia surrounding it in a cloud. She smiled, "It was a pleasure to meet you, Mr. Jones. Please do come by the store sometime,"

He stared at the paper, a little poleaxed, but nodded his head. There wasn't anything wrong with taking a business card, and Tony could always use something new to pull from. Ianto wasn't certain his secretaries wouldn't notice them all having roses from the same florist. Not that he was actually dating a secretary right now...

As far as Ianto knew.

"I'll be sure to give him this," Ianto said with a nod. "Nice to meet you too, Ms. Isley." She was a businesswoman, at least. If Tony met her he'd probably like her... and she was a step up from his usual. Ianto wasn't certain he'd ever settle down anyway.

And with another smile, she was gone. The flowers would lose a hint of color as she left, barely detectable by most. She hoped he would come by - in fact, she was almost positive he would - but for now she was more or less convinced that there were better ways to get to Tony Stark. She wanted to bring up the idea of a grand opening for the Black Apple - a lavish party with plenty of floral decorations and plenty of wine, plenty of phone numbers given out and promises whispered.

She smiled, fingering the rose still stuck behind her ear. For now, for today, she was worried about one singular thing, and that was perfumes for her own personal stock. The whereabouts and nasty secrets of Tony Stark and his cronies was not of any particular interest to her just now. She would bide her time.
