Prompt 1: News like this was not what he wanted to hear, particularly on Valentine’s Day.

News like this was not what Severus wanted to hear, particularly on this day. “You told them what?” he roared, his mouth dropping open in shock. “No!”

Harry bit his lip and sidled closer. “I know it’s not what we planned, but they need a place to stay and--”

“Not what we planned?” Severus repeated. “I should say not!” His voice went soft, going smooth, velvety as he embraced Harry and whispered, “Do you know what I actually had planned for tonight? I thought we could have an intimate dinner, and then we could stretch out in front of the fire and make sensual love to each other. I could slide into you until you come, screaming my name...”

“Oh God,” Harry moaned, trembling in his arms. “That sounds brilliant.” Then, he frowned. “But I thought you hated Valentine’s Day.”

Severus sighed. “Perhaps you have finally persuaded me as to the benefits of this...day,” he murmured. He paused. “Although we’ll never know, shall we?”

Harry drew back. “Fuck that,” he growled. “I know the Burrow’s been condemned, but surely the Weasleys can stay in a hotel or something tonight.” He grinned, and, dragging himself out of Severus’ arms, went to the Floo.

As Harry firecalled his friends to give them the bad news, Severus smirked. While he hated Valentine’s Day, he hated visitors more.

Prompt 5: Roses, bows and love letters, and other such delusions.

When the knock came, Severus put down his manuscript and sighed. Harry had warned him of the likelihood of this visit. “Come in.”

She looked as he’d expected, upset, and his heart went out to her. Opening his arms wide, he waited.

She uttered a wordless cry, flinging herself into his arms. He held her as she sobbed, stroking her hair and wondering how he would find words to comfort her.

After a while, her sobs faded until she was simply trembling in his arms, tears spent. Finally, he tilted her face up to his. “What’s wrong, princess?” he asked, knowing the answer, but needing her to tell him.

“It’s Valentine’s Day,” she said as if that was a complete explanation of her mood.

Severus almost smiled. “Indeed, it is. Sometimes it makes me want to weep, too,” he confided.

Exhibiting the mercurial change of temperament that was the hallmark of the young, she giggled. “Papa!”

“Oh, sorry, you are being serious, I see.” He raised an eyebrow. “I take it you’re upset because you did not receive suitable gifts from your admirers?”

She sniffed. “Rose got ten Valentines and I only got nine! It’s not fair!”

“Hm, and I am sure you’ve heard me tell you about fairness as it pertains to life,” Severus murmured.

Snuggling closer, she just looked up at him through her lashes, and he felt his heart melt. She’s such a little Slytherin, he marvelled.

“But, Papa, all I need is one more rose,” she said, bottom lip wobbling.

“I see. Does it count if your father sends it?” Severus asked.

“Of course!” Suddenly bouncy, Lily jumped off his knee. “Does that mean you’ll do it?”

“You know how I feel about roses, bows, love letters, and other such delusions,” he reminded her.

“We’ll take care of it, Lily,” Harry said, walking up behind Severus and sliding his hand over Severus’ shoulder. “Believe it or not, your papa can be quite romantic when inspired.”

“Brilliant!” Lily hugged Harry, then Severus, then raced out the door, no doubt to lord it over the poor, unfortunate girls who hadn’t received as many presents as she had.

“I am not a romantic man,” Severus muttered, even as Harry cast locking and soundproofing charms on the room.

Harry grinned. “You can be when provided with the correct stimulation,” he said. “Lily is living proof of that, remember?”

Severus shook his head as Harry dropped to his knees. “The things I do for you,” he said, spreading his legs wide so that Harry could fit between them.

“Better than roses and other delusions,” Harry murmured before occupying his mouth with other more important tasks.

Yes, Severus agreed silently. Perhaps Harry is correct. I can manage romance when provided the proper incentive.

	As I tend towards sociopathic myself, I heartily approve of Severus' sighs manipulations. Of course he would do anything to avoid having his peace destroyed, even be romantic, use Harry's libido, or bottom ... Okay, perhaps he wouldn't go so far as to bottom, so replace that with 'kill'. Haha. *shakes head at Severus* He's such a sneaky little thing. Hated visitors more... *grin* I love that your Severus can be devious and Slytherin and cunning and still love Harry and be a wonderful person at the same time. It's incredibly refreshing to see a balance of the two : )

As for the second fic, family fics are adorable. And I love that Lily can't be second-best, haha. Got that from her father! Slytherins... xD And I love that you ended it with sweetness and romance, and that Severus can be romantic when he wants to. : ) So sweet.

XD LOL I have totally read this the other way first - as in, condemned by Snape in that... >_< "No way in h-ll are we staying there, POTTER!!!!" Then I got the 'true' meaning! AND ROFL'ing. XD Puns are always good. Especially in drabbles. 'Cuz, y'know, what else is there? It's only 100 words! :3

The second one I LOVEloveLOVE! For the insinuation! And on that highly pleasant note, =), the tally is in, and the second drabble did it: *goes to add to Memories* =)
