Notes: Oh, it seems... it might actually be working! I'm using a proxy to log in to livejournal from China, since the site is oddly blocked from inside the country. But I promised a running report on Takarazuka's production of "El Halcon" as news becomes available, so hopefully this will stay stable long enough for me to post! :D

A press conference was held about the upcoming show. The top male-role player (Aran Kei), the top female-role player (Toono Asuka), and the second-rank male-role player (Yuzuki Reon) all attended, as well as the director and Aoike-sensei herself. It was revealed that the main role will indeed be Tyrian, while the main female role will be Gilda. In Takarazuka, having a "dirty hero" is a rare thing. Yuzuki will play Red. (Actually, it appears that Luminous Red Benedict has been renamed for the production to Luminous Red Drake.)

There is a head shot and a group shot with Aoike-sensei, as well as the actresses and various staff members. She's so tiny! Maybe someone else will translate this article, but I will also try to translate it if no one else has gotten to it. I'm at a loose end for several days until we get back to the States.

There looks to be a peak shot of the poster for the production at the beginning of the article, though it hasn't officially been posted to the Takarazuka Revue web site yet.

Another report covering the press conference, this time from the official Takarazuka website. And they just posted the page for the Takarazuka Grand Theater run, if you want a slightly better look at the costumes.

Tickets for the Takarazuka run (11/2 - 12/15) go on sale starting on Sept. 29th. Tickets for the Tokyo run (1/2 - 2/11) go on sale Nov. 25th.</p>

Notes: I totally forgot that some of the people over here might perhaps like to see these, too.

So, here are the high resolution scans [meaning: large, but not necessarily good images *lol*] of the two Eberbach brochures with Klaus. (I don't know if there are more than these two brochures, but these are the only ones I've got.)

These are only scans of a photocopy (!) since there was only one original of the brochures left.

Since both of the brochures are larger than DinA 4 (which is the size of my scanner) I had to do two scans of each side and combine them in Photoshop. You can see that very clearly at the "inside" scan from the newer brochure. I'm just not very good with Photoshop, sorry! :(

Notes: rheasilvia and I decided to do an Eroica Cosplay and since the AnimagiC 2006 was in Bonn it was the perfect place to do so. It was a lot of fun even though only one group of people recognized us. At least I think they recognized us, they didn't really approach us, but were only staring and whispering in disbelief. Of course this could always be due to Dorian’s oh so dashing and tasteful appearance *G*.

Notes: I reread the first volume today and found Jeff Beck. :D Those of you who know Led Zeppelin probably know that Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page used to play together in a group called the Yardbirds, just like Eric Clapton before them. When Leo and Sugar try to save Cesar and come to Dorian's castle they are seen by one of Dorian's men who looks pretty much like Jeff and is called "Beck". You might have noticed this already but it took me a year to notice^^'. Did anyone find any more musicians in Eroica (other than the members of Led Zeppelin)?
For those of you who don't know Jeff Beck here is a photo.
EDIT: Actually you find him earlier when the three kids try to break into Dorian's castle. I tried to photograph the pic but it became pretty blurry, sorry.

Notes: This weekend, akatonbo and I were at ACen, and we spent some time Friday as Klaus and Dorian, respectively. We were amazed that one person actually recognized us! :D

But the point of this post is basically to share the crack that ensued when it came time to take pictures.

Notes: I'm still in a state of shock, and I'm not sure how many of you would appreciate these, but.... Remember when I put up those video clips a while ago? Well, a friend found a photo shoot that Takarazuka did -- a real Eroica dress-up, with some of my favorite male-player stars.

Yamato Yuuga (Tani) as Eroica and Mizu Natsuki as Klaus.
