ETA: If she has a "death wish", then that's something she has in common with Cass's initial foray into Batgirldom.

I am liking the detail put into Steph's house. You can see it's a little run down.

I'm already a little weary of the Steph-has-to-prove-herself-to-everyone thing. I can't decide whether or not I like the fact that Q. Miller referenced Babs trying to scare Charlie off of being Batgirl with Steph's autopsy photos.

Oh God. Yes, the woman who was in public service, has spent the last two decades with a lifestyle where if you're not where you're supposed to be when you're supposed to be, people die, currently lives her life on a daily schedule out of simple necessity, and is an apex control freak besides... is totally always late, yes, that's a completely plausible and awesomely quirky trait for Babs to have. Augh that mini.

That, though, I think was just supposed to be exactly that, a quirky personality trait - it can't have had anything to do with Oracle because twenty seconds of thought about Oracle would immediately have revealed its ridiculousness. This, on the other hand, seems to be a deliberate statement of Steph's ill-preparedness for the Batgirl role. Or perhaps rather her inability to do it alone, a side-detail to emphasize the importance of her hooking up with Babs. If Steph is not able to provide for the care and outfitting of her costume, a basic vigilante need, that shows us why she needs someone around with the skills and resources to cover that deficit. I don't know if that makes it better or worse, though.
