Canadians flip Labour Day the bird.

Four scans from Incredible Hercules #134.

Balder-who's-actually-Malekith has recruited Hercules to pose as Thor to deal with Alflyse, the Queen of the Dark Elves of the Eastern Spires; apparently, she's been in charge since Malekith "died" back in the 1980s.  Herc and Kid Zeus make their way to her castle, and since she's stunningly beautiful, Herc decides to put the moves on her and find out if she has any evil designs (at least, that's his justification).  Alflyse invites "Thor" inside...

The final test is a test of character; a bunch of goons attack him and he has to not get distracted when she flashes some thigh.  Of course, he fails this one.  Alflyse:  "Eh, two out of three.  Close enough."

Really though, apart from the strength one none of these tests seem particularly calculated to root out Thor.  He never struck me as a master chess-player.  Of course, these guys clearly don't know much about Thor.

Anyhoo, Herc and Alflyse proceed to par-tay the night away, while Zeus heads to the castle library and flips through a big book of Thor stories.

Now that they're married, Alflyse wants to invade Asgard to put her new husband back on the throne.  Oops.

My MA studies required a relocation to Carleton University this fall, so this was my first comic-day in town.  Surprisingly, the Ottawa bus system was navigated without a hitch, and I snagged the store's last copy of iHerc.  Good times.

Valid points. But it's curious to see two stories within the space of a month, from the same writer, which deal with a female character having sex under the impression they're with someone other than the person they're actually is. There was justified distaste over one, yet yours was the first comment about this that seemed negative.

But the difference you raise certainly make the situation somewhat different. I just found it... interesting, I guess.

It definitely is interesting and I was surprised that no one said anything before I did, but I think that can be chalked up to the differences in the circumstances and tones of the stories. Where the Chameleon/Michelle thing stands out as an obvious target in a rather poor attempt at a comedy of errors, the iffiness of the Herc/Alflyse sex is woven pretty cleanly into a story that is otherwise honestly pretty fun.

Of course, in a way that makes it even creepier...
