Canadians flip Labour Day the bird.

Four scans from Incredible Hercules #134.

Balder-who's-actually-Malekith has recruited Hercules to pose as Thor to deal with Alflyse, the Queen of the Dark Elves of the Eastern Spires; apparently, she's been in charge since Malekith "died" back in the 1980s.  Herc and Kid Zeus make their way to her castle, and since she's stunningly beautiful, Herc decides to put the moves on her and find out if she has any evil designs (at least, that's his justification).  Alflyse invites "Thor" inside...

The final test is a test of character; a bunch of goons attack him and he has to not get distracted when she flashes some thigh.  Of course, he fails this one.  Alflyse:  "Eh, two out of three.  Close enough."

Really though, apart from the strength one none of these tests seem particularly calculated to root out Thor.  He never struck me as a master chess-player.  Of course, these guys clearly don't know much about Thor.

Anyhoo, Herc and Alflyse proceed to par-tay the night away, while Zeus heads to the castle library and flips through a big book of Thor stories.

Now that they're married, Alflyse wants to invade Asgard to put her new husband back on the throne.  Oops.

My MA studies required a relocation to Carleton University this fall, so this was my first comic-day in town.  Surprisingly, the Ottawa bus system was navigated without a hitch, and I snagged the store's last copy of iHerc.  Good times.

I loved the layered Trek references. From the 3-D chess set to Herc's own version of the Kobayashi Maru.

Herc has always struck me as a character who wouldn't believe in the 'No-Win scenario'..(He did try to punch out Galactus after all..)So I can see him liking James T Kirk all right..(Not to mention their similar attitudes to the fairer sex..)

That would be Dylan Hunt.

LOL! Nicely played..

And here I thought I was about the only person that ever saw that show..Though I didn't make it past the start of the 2nd season. I did watch the last episode though, and as bad as the writing was, even that show had a more satisfying final scene than Voyager got. (Which annoyed me tremendously at the time..)

It was actually kind of watchable at first, before Shatner Sorbo got the reins and everything else went by the wayside in favor of his ego (including the much cooler, sexier, and more interesting first officer).

That was sad. I loved the first season.

Oh so that's what happend there. I wondered why they suddenly semed to get rid of all the reasonably interesting story arcs in favour of Sorbo saves the day type plots..

It was an intensely schizophrenic show from the start, but when it was good in the first 1 1/2 seasons, it was pretty enjoyable. The last really good episode was the first Christopher Judge guest-appearance (also, the guy who played Iolaus was in it).

Had some great stylistic touches though (the opening fake-quotes, the cool ship names).

They were very cool.

Oh, I'd forgotton about the quotes. Yeah, they were the best part. I see that the new Clone Wars episodes have been adopting the same type of openings..
