Not the best of family reunions.
Six scans taken from Captain Britain (v.2) #9-10, in which Captain Britain heads to Africa to find his brother Jamie.
These two from the end of one issue I've clipped a bit to remove references to other plots that don't relate to this. Basically, Brian and Meggan are watching the TV:
So next issue, Brian and Meggan arrive in one of those fictional postage-stamp nations that always turn up in fiction scattered through eastern Europe and sub-Saharan Africa. They bust into a presumed hideout, only to find it vacant, with a message for them:
He runs around this mindscape for a while, before it transitions into various memories; we see the origin of Dr. Crocodile (he was an African prince who was for whatever reason working in England with the superhero-monitoring agency the RCX, until he was injured in an accident; he got rebuilt, but he now looks like a deformed weirdo; then he returned home to take over the leadership of said postage-stamp country since dad died). Brian then comes face to face with a dream-representation of...
Brian dream-fights the smirky ape-like guy for a bit (in this condensed format, for a page or so), and Doc Croc comments that he will be judged for his crimes. Brian obviously denies having been party to any of this, and ape-guy is revealed to be...
I'm not sure that smirking/insulting look in Panel 1 is the best prelude to begging him to save your life in Panel 3, Jamie.
Anyhoo, Brian dispiritedly leaves, telling Meggan he hopes they kill him, while Doc Croc is seen pondering the issue of "justice" (according to the captions).
This story was revisited a few years later in Claremont and Davis' Excalibur series, where we find out that Doc Croc didn't kill him, he just tortured him a lot. This turned out to be a spectacularly bad idea, as it drove him insane and unleashed his mutant reality-warping powers, which he used to, among other things, turn Dr. Crocodile into a real crocodile. Excalibur eventually defeated him, but it was never shown what became of Doc Croc.
