Still more Wonder Woman fanart

CEILING CHEETAH...

For legality, from Gail Simone's "Circle" run

As usual I'll try to give credit where I can, but I often forgot to save the names while saving the pictures.

Here's a lovely picture of Angle Man by "Desert Spirit".

Photobucket

Etta and Diana vs. Chuma and Cheetah. I think this one's by "H".

A series by various artists, of Circe meeting her biggest fanbase.

The first one's by "Tim", I think

This next pic is by "H"

Photobucket

It doesn't come up very often any more, but Cheetah is British

Photobucket

Dr. Poison, studying the physiology of a mythical creature. This one's by "L", I think.

Ferdinand!

A wonderful pic of WW and Io.

Photobucket

Chang "Egg Fu" Tzu, at the movies...

(Geddit? BEES! My God.)

KEVFU gives us Chang Tzu blogging.

Always interesting, ICS gives us Chang Tzu at the opera.

And while it's not Wonder-Woman related, he also gave us "Poledancing Miss Martian"

Photobucket

Check out his webcomic http://cityofreality.com/

And lastly here's Genocide, made with the "design a character" part of the "City of Heroes" video game (quite a few people pointed out that she looked like she was made in that game, but it took a while before anyone tried to prove it)

The comic book concept of a soul is such a goofy, vague thing. Why would you have to use a pre-existing one or make a new one separately when you've already made a living, thinking, sentient being?

Because the whole point of the character of Stalker (and thus of the "Ends of the Earth" WW storyarch) is that a living, thinking, sentient being without a soul is doomed to a horrible existence, much worse than death and torture.

This isn't meta or fandom, this was said by Diana herself in the story where her soul was stolen, and she was forced to take it back by dooming the thief. Since the concept of soul had such a great and fundamental importance in the story, I would have liked it to be explained more in detail.

That is exactly the goofy crap I am talking about. In that context it sounds like a soul is just a status symbol and good luck charm.

Not really, it was explained in that story that a soul is the vehicle through which people can feel emotions. If you have no soul, you can't feel anything at all, absolutely nothing but an oppressing, mind-numbing, sanity-destroying nothingness.

This Stalker guy spent centuries soulless, and when he finally acquired a soul and the first things he felt were terrible guilt and sadness (because he had acquired said soul at the cost of betraying a person who had been kind to him), he was so happy he cried tears of joy, because even the worst emotions are better than the black hole of feelings he had been stuck in.

As a concept, I rather like it. I just wish it had been explored more in detail.

That's like asking comic writers to define their rules for Magic--

Or Marvel actually writing out what the Super Hero Registration Act entailed before they put pen to paper on stories involving it.

(And all three piss me off)
