3 from Cry for Justice #3

It turns out that the "Prometheus" that Hal and the others had caught was a Clayface. Prometheus wanted to attract a whole bunch of heroes to a decoy, then set off a bomb.

The real Prometheus decides to have a talk with one of his underlings, who's curious as to what the boss has in mind.

Europe's hero population never seems to fare well when Robinson is writing, does it?

True, but Oracle is usually obsessive about knowing everything, so she would find out that the European heroes needed help and send over someone. Usually Dinah or Helena, but she hasn't hung out with them so much lately. So Wonder Woman's a possibility. Because Oracle is the signal for all superheroes. Sort of.

Of course, it's always possible that Robinson's canon is completely different from mine, but that's no fun.

Well, does your canon include C-listers? Particularly minorities, like blacks and gays? Because if so, then clearly, yes, you have a very different DCU than his.

The Starman he's using is bisexual.

And he's using Dr. Light on his upcoming Justice League.

Cry for Justice is bad, but I'm not ready to give up on Robinson just yet. I've enjoyed his Superman stuff for the most part.

He just doesn't seem to have much respect for Europe's superheroes...

Funnily enough, Blue Starman isn't bisexual. Among his own kind, he's only attracted to the female of the species. He's got a boyfriend here (well, he had, until he got fridged in order to motivate Blue Starman to find JUSTICEJUSTICE) because humans are so alien it makes no difference, or some ass-covering noise like that.

Anyway, point remains. This is a story about a team of entirely white folks (Blue Starman may be blue, but he codes white, and Congorilla is a gorilla, but he used to be white), which opened by killing off a bunch of D-list (read: won't be rezzed) minority characters in order to motivate said white folks, and has now killed off a couple more D-listers in order to show how badass his villain is, including yet another of the DCU's vanishingly small pool of gay characters. It's like he thinks he's writing a Big Linewide Crossover or something. It's more than a little annoying.

I have to disagree with you on Starman. He's male and he loved a man. I'd call him bisexual. He reminds me of the sort of person that's openly gay, except in their hometown/when the parents are visiting.

I'd still say Starman's bisexual. And Batwoman's definitely gay, and will be joining the team.

It's like this book was made for the people that where upset that McDuffie's Justice League had to many minority characters.

Hoshi doesn't count, she's an unfair stereotype written to be unlikeable in order to annoy a certain irritating Newsarama fan.

an unfair stereotype

What's she an unfair stereotype of?

She's a single working genius mother that doesn't take shit from anyone and showers scorn on anyone and everyone.

Not a stereotypical Japanese woman, that's for damn sure.

I'll no-prize it and say J'onn was always the one to handle this sort of thing. It fits the international presence he had in his own series, along with the way he keeps ending up playing "Den Mother". Without J'onn, the International Heroes have lost a vital part of their information network.

It's as good an explanation as any.
