Some MA Spider-man cuteness

Someone posted the scene of Gwen randomly putting hats on Peter, but the last two issues have really been more dedicated to another character. A mutant girl codenamed Chat.

As Chat and Emma are wandering around they end up being saved by Spider-man. Emma naturally reads his minds and figures out his secret identity (seemingly because, well, she's Emma) So she mind controls herself in and tries to get an interview so she can learn more (Again, seemingly just for shits and giggles and because Sophia seems intrigued) Neithr of them has been going to school, apparently. So they interview him and Emma shows his origins in pictures, and Sophia is all impressed by Peter's Great Power Great Responsibility thing. Then Emma stages a fight.

That's Gwen by the way, hitting the would-be stagecoach robber with her book. Gwen distracts them enough that Peter gets to change into his costume and kick their ass (Sophia is impressed by how fast he can get out of his clothes)

Chat decides to stay in school. Because she totally has a crush on Peter.
Next issue, we're after the entire preview-shown "Gwen randomly putting hats on people" thing. Chat is asking Peter on not-a-date.

There's a subplot about cars, and how Peter is a terrible driver and has to borrow one, and how those cars are stolen and one of them was apparently stolen from some mafia Don, and then Spider-Man comes to the rescue.

At the end, everyone is confused, but the bad guys are caught. Turns out a guy at their school was stealing cars because people kept asking him to borrow his... (he wasn't selling them, just lending them out to his friends)

We also get some Emma Frost being... Emma Frost.

But... non-slutty Emma... mind... breaking...

But she's still an arrogant bitch for whom "privacy" might as well be a Klingon word. So the essential Emma is still there.

Of course. Peter is too young.

Emma in MASM seems to be about the same age as Peter and Sophia.

That panel of her talking on the phone somehow reminds me of Azula's "YES! WE HAVE BEATEN YOU FOR FOREVER AND ALL TIME! YOU WILL NEVER RISE FROM YOUR SHAME AND HUMILIATION!" face.

Wasn't she the animal talking girl in NYX?

I don't think so.

The girl in NYX with animal related powers was Tatiana. When she touched the blood of an animal she took characteristics of that animal.

And once when she turned into a cat/human hybrid she called herself Catiana.

They seem to switch artists pretty often, actually, so I'm not sure buying it for the art is a good idea.

One of the "Batman Strikes" artists, Chris Jones tells me he's doing some MA Spider-man. His stuff is money.

I like the this Sophia/Chat character, another character added to my 'Who should Peter date other than MJ/Gwen/Felicia/Betty Brant/ Michelle' list.

Also I love the art who did this?

Textbooks: good weapons. I had a Western Art History textbook which I probably could have used to murder someone. I dropped it on the floor once and it knocked a bunch of things off a table.

Someone wasn't paying attention. Actually several people weren't. At the end of the story, he was just lending them to his friends, but he was shown renting them out earlier.

Awww, I like Chat. You gotta love a girl who makes embarassed apologies to people after they've just been mind-controlled into doing something to her advantage. Also, I like this version of Emma Frost - she's not evil, just amoral and manipulative. But she KNOWS she's amoral and manipulative, and has fun with it. "Diamonds everywhere! I'll bring you some!" (It's also nice to see that she's back to having mental powers in this version. Morrison's 'let's have her turn into living diamond instead!' thing was immensely bogus.)

Morrison didn't take away her psychic powers, he just gave her an additional one.

OK, my bad. But it was still dumb. I can understand the notion of powers developing over times, but you don't just pull a completely unrelated power like that out of your hat and claim that it's a natural offshoot of the old one. Turning into diamond has about as much to do with mental powers as a tasty hamburger has to do with a printing press.

That was actually a whole gimmick at the time with all the mutants where some of the characters got secondary mutations, often totally unrelated to their original one(s). I think Claremont was the first since he made Beast into the cat-looking Disney-esque one even though technically he only had super-strength and that lab incident that made him blue and furry.

I was under the impression that Morrisson did that - I thought that was part of his whole revamp thing, along with Emma, her costume, and making the X-Men in general look like escapees from a leather bar.

wow in one issue, I already like her more than the other love interest that were introduce in Brand New Day like Carlie(actually like her), Lily, Norah, and Michelle(its not hard though).

I love Marvel Adenture universe. people, even the civilians aren't douchebags(especially to their heroes).
