I just sent Didio a message asking "Why don't you do something like Countdown to Mystery, which published two normal-length stories together, with Manhunter and Blue Beetle? This would allow the writers to write 22-page stories, as opposed to 8-page ones. While both series struggled with low sales, if the audiences of both books bought the same title the sales would probably be higher."

If such a series were to be published, do you think it would work?

And, for legality...

	I thought the point of packing them with more popular books was to expose more people to those characters and get more support for stand-alone books? (Reply to this) (Thread)

Yeah, that's what I understood as well. The writer of Manhunter pointed out that they probably reached far more readers as the backup for STREETS OF GOTHAM than they could have as an individual title. Even though I still don't really care for MANHUNTER and don't look forward having that as a part of the comic, although my love for BLUE BEETLE springs eternal as opposed of not reading the comic it is a part of, I do think it is an exceptionally good way to push these characters.

	technically i think this is a dream sequence shortly after she kills Copper head, she was afraid batman would not like her for killing. In reality, the first meeting went pretty well. (Reply to this) (Thread)

	I think DC should start doing the mega books that Marvel does. They sandwich a bunch of individual comics together, not just two. The difference between those and Spider-man Family is that that's just two titles, with a bunch extra stories thrown in. The mega-books are completely different franchises all thrown together. Combining Manhunter's sales and Blue Beetle sales at the end of their runs, I get something that's less than Booster Gold's current sales.

And I suspect that not everybody who bought Blue Beetle or Manhunter would buy the combined book and that sales of both books would decline rapidly.

Streets of Gotham gives Kate Spencer an audience the size of which she's never had, while Booster Gold gives Jaime more of a chance to overcome Ted Kord-related hate.

I don't know if that would work.

first I'm thinking of the cover price of that book. sure I would be getting 2 comics for probably about $5 but what if I not really interested in one of the title characters.

I may go with giving them 11 pages so the cost is similar to other comics.

of course since these are two characters that had lagging sales I'm not sure if they will do that well in a book together. Maybe two books splitting them up with characters that are a more popular.
