Sam Lane: To Death and Back
With Sam Lane showing up in the Superman books again, I thought I'd post how he apparently died and when he first came back.
Sam Lane apparently sacrificed his life in Action Comics #781, during the "Our Worlds at War" crossover. It's written by Joe Kelly and illustrated by Kano (the pseudonym of Jose Angel Cano Lopez).
Meanwhile, Lois Lane is calling Superman for help.
Next up is Action Comics #832, written by Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning and illustrated by John Byrne. It's Halloween night, the barriers between life and death are down, and ghosts are roaming the city.
Lois Lane's truck goes off a bridge after almost getting struck by lightning.
This issue came out at the end of 2005; Sam Lane would make his next appearance towards the end of 2008 in the New Krypton storyline.
