I didn't say it wasn't a last name, just that I wasn't familiar with it. (awwwww. Poochie face icon! Here, have a poochie face. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v449/LaPucelle/kaylonloom.jpg )
So is he supposed to be Polish or Polish Jewish or Polish Gypsy? I'm _assuming_ Jewish, but I'm not going to assume too strongly till someone says. And I kind of like 'terror verging on awe' as a last name for someone who creates new types of life.

I still think that the whole 'men on Paradise Island / Polly going Babies! Babies! Babies! / closet line in this issue' thing is all a ongoing narrative with something that will have meaning in the end, myself.

... You know, you could actually write a decent comic about the crew and stagehands of an underground fighting ring. Something like Rival Angels (a webcomic) with superpowers. It'd _probably_ have to be a little less lethal, eg people die, it's unfortunate, but not the intended goal type thing.

It really depends on how you play it.

I'm sorry, I was posting quickly and didn't mean to imply you had said otherwise. Just posting in a hurry, is all!

Oh. One critically important thing. When I said "You know, you could actually write a decent comic about the crew and stagehands of an underground fighting ring.", I did not mean you _should_, or that I was referring to you, Gail. I was using the 'you' in the sense of 'one could'.

I'd think you specifically should _not_ write one for DC, at least in the tone I see it, because it would overlap significantly with Secret Six's tone and interactions. Not that you'd do poorly (the opposite, in fact), just that they'd probably wind up being similar. (If you do so, or have done so and it has not been published, I note that I copyleft all claims I have on the concept, god knows it's not new, and have no standing for any stupid 'fangirl claims author stole her idea' complaints. (end boilerplate))

I was just thing about Secret Six and Marvel's version of the fighting ring (Thing comics, the Grapplers: Songbird being a survivor of that plotline.)

I think I'm going to post something to noscansdaily about underground fighting rings and comics and superheroes. It shows up _all over the place_. Soon I Will Be Invincible, the Dog Pound in Blue Beetle, here... I think it's because it gives a chance for interaction before and after fights, and even during fights, because the fight isn't a desperate struggle, but rather a goal in and of itself. The fight scenes themselves can challenge artists in a different way, as they seek to tell a different sort of story.
