Meet the new JLA

An SDCC image previewing part of James Robinson's lineup for Justice League of America.

The cover:

So Hal, Dick, Donna, Mon-El, apparently Congorilla (according to the panel), somebody with a bow and arrow...

Why switch Kara who was already on the team for Mon with a makeshift S on his chest? Are they afraid of a predominantly female trinity?

This doesn't strike me as the team Robinson wants...looks like some editorial mandates. Supergirl's probably out so her writer retains control--an ongoing is different from a mini. Bat-Dick seems like a "shove him in because JLA always has Batman".

Seems a bit random. I'd've preferred some continuity (of course, we're still waiting for the rest of Cry). Maybe the ones who worked with Hal become people he trusts enough to back him up? Because there's definitely gonna be leadership squabbles with Dick!Bat. That might be fun--bonus if the unknown archer is Arse Red Arrow.

JEALOUSY SLASH WOOT!

Sterling Gates once said on his twitter he better ask Robinson where Supergirl ends up following the cry for justice mini like it had slipped his mind. He's also pretty laid back about these things. Like he's a fan with the best luck and who's in no place to say no to anything.

Robinson said last time that Didio demanded that the superman and batman symbols be represented on the JLA with batwoman and supergirl and its possible he feels more comfortable with mon considering he's writing him in Superman but narratively it may be weird that Supergirl gets switched out so fast or perhaps the league in cry for justice doesn't call itself a league, its just a mish mash of people thrown together during a crisis

I believe that'll be the case.

More than you can imagine. However, KAra is currently more or less in self-imposed exile on New Krypton as part of the whole keeping an eye on mum / avoiding Lois plotline so her absence from this line up makes sense.

Doesn't explain the lack of Diana though, unless she's tied up in the Amazon rape camp off repopulating Themyscria.
