In Which I Tried To Sell Out

Some may recall I posted some of my work at SD 1.0. Here is more, but this time, stuff that will never be published. And me drawing Marvel characters.
So recently, I finally got up the nerve, after building up a small indie rep as an illustrator and cartoonist, to try to attempt a Marvel sample. As what I draw best, it seems, is attractive women, a friend suggested I use the Black Cat.
So in thanks, she ended up the face model for same.(she also suggested Bullseye, because she wanted to see him kicked in the face)
So: What was going to happen here was she was going to kick Bullseye about the room a bit, and Bullseye was going to be in humiliating pain. Then Norman Osborn was going to come in at the end--I still hadn't worked out why, I just wanted to use him.
But alas, once I had finished this page, Marvel stopped taking submissions right then.
So as it will go to no other purpose, I thought y'all might get a small kick from it, though there are a few errors I was going to fix. Here then is the page of the abortion. Hope you like.

If anyone's interested, more of my stuff can be seen here.

Why do you consider it degrading to have your work assessed by a professional, it's what you'll have to deal with if you do become a successful comics artist.

From what I gather of such things they are usually very polite and professional and have no interest in humiliating those who submit their work for evaluation.

It's public, you're there, they're there, a con is somewhere you go to have fun, you're one of many hopefuls.. I'd hate it too, just the social level it's on is a very odd one. It's an atmosphere thing for me I think. I would resent the entire process like heck, even if they leapt up and shouted BY GUM, MADAM, YOU'RE HIRED!

It's the cattle call aspect of it that I don't like. Also that you can only find work there when a convention is in town. I suppose the fact that I'm already a professional, just not at that level, makes it itch a bit more than it otherwise would; I just don't care for that kind of anonymous in-person thing. If I have to be evaluated that way I'd rather it was by submission in an office, and not affected by factors like, this person at the table wants to go to the bathroom or whatever.
