Cap, Lost, and Slaughterhouse Five. Plus Scans!

The fine folks over at io9 have put together a large post filled with scans (just how we like 'em!) that traces the clues Brubaker's been slipping into the last 25 issues about Captain America's rebirth.

I kind of wish that they'd held off on the resurrection for another year or three, but it's good that they're actually working with the writer on this rather then just handing down an awful plot from on high. I mean, Brubaker's pulled off a lot of material that I'd never thought have worked, like Red Skull dying (Slander!), Bucky being brought back as a communist assassin with a robot arm (Hearsay!), then taking over for a dead cap with a new costume and a more extreme attitude (BALDERDASH)! Yet, enjoy it I do...

Context for the above. Marvel Adventures Cap is looking for leads on who's bringing the Invaders to the present and mind-controlling them. As far as I know, this is The Amazing Mr. Internets first and only appearance.

He is officially the best character find of 2009.

Bonus round: SAD BULKY IRON MAN IN DISGUISE.

Man, giant fighting robots from WWII do not emote very subtly...

	Marvel Adventures is the best Marvel titles ever! Amazing Mr. Internets! Besides supplying information can he attack with a series of tubes? And that last scan, I don't know where is it from but Tony being a woobie and encountering past version of Steve really gets to me ;__; and I love how Tony can emote through his armor. I agree with you completely about Bucky's return, Steve's death, Bucky as Cap: These all sounded like TERRIBLE ideas to me, but Brubaker's been able to pull them off beautifully. (I still grin every time I think of that Bucky-Batroc encounter.)

At this point he's worn down all my resistance. My feeling is, "Hey Ed, you wanna bring a character from Heroes Reborn into this? Do what you need to do, man. I'm right there with you."
