Oh Look, Everyone Was Wrong
One page from Superman/Batman #61, and the resolution of a previous quandry.

Turns out it was not Robin Lois, its...Lana Quinn.

There's some other decent mish-mashes, but I think Ravanna was the best. I'll post it if someone wants, but after the spirited discussion on the prospect of Robin Lane (Totally should have happend!), I thought I'd post the answer!

This issue made me sad and happy at the same time. I hope the Mashup world returns somehow.

You know what was probably my favorite part? Zee waking up. Because evidently, she wears that top hat right up until she goes to sleep.

And that's just awesome. Somebody give her an on-going, now.

Personally seeing Zee's dream being that of her and Bruce being married was heartbreaking.

Also I absolutely LOVE page 5 I think where Batman's snuck behind Terranado and tells her "Hello Terranado" and her face going holy FUCK.

Batman, he scares the motor oil out of gynoids.

Heh. These mashups are awesome. Can we get an ongoing?

Say, (I'm sure this has been asked somewhere) now that Bruce is "dead" and Dick has taken up the mantle, is Superman/Batman going to become awesome Clark/Dick team-ups, or what?

Given most of the stories in Superman/Batman seem to be out of any real continuity DC are attempting to keep running, I somehow see them using this and Batman Confidential as vehicles to tell Bruce stories while he's dead. We've been promised a 'Dick meets the JLA' moment toward the end of the year, apparently.

I really liked the twist in this issue (which was actually well foreshadowed).

Also, given Superman/Batman continuity Lana Quinn actually makes decent sense: Lana did try to make the world uninhabitable for Superman to protect Lexcorp's investment and you can mash that with Harley.

Were any other mashup groups other than the Justice Titans mentioned in these issues? I'm trying to decide whether or not I should go ahead with figuring out who the International Outsiders would be.

Brainycat is amazing of course, but my other favorite is Doomstroke. For no other reason than that I like the idea of a giant monster who wears a teeny little mask to protect its secret identity.

They should carry that over into mainstream DC. "Now let's see who this masked madman is who tore through downtown Metropolis... le gasp! It's DOOMSDAY! I never even saw that coming."

Doomstroke: Two laughably overpowered flavors that taste great together.

I wouldn't mind Jimmy Two-Face showing up independently of the mash-up-verse. Now... *goes to dig up the Silver Age 'Super Bat-Man' amalgam*

Oh goodie, this is my time to chant "I told you so" at Terranado's situation.

I hated Zee's dream. HATED. She's over him, dammit.

Nightlantern trusting Superman rather than Batman? Okay, that broke my heart.

The art is really really very pretty. Thank you for the multiple ogling opportunities provided by the art. Thank you, Francis Manapul.

And there was no Lois at all, which lets me believe that there was actually a Robin Lane mash-up, just off screen.

Well, dear goddess, considering Hal's issues with Batman, and Dick's issues with Batman, can you just imagine what a mashup of those issues would be?

I so need fanfic of these two!
