In which Chamber deals with having a roommate who ISN'T a mutant
From Icons: Chamber #1-4, by Brian K. Vaughan and Lee Ferguson
After volunteering to go undercover (in as much as someone like Jono can GO undercover) to investigate the deaths of 6 mutants and meeting several of the mutants going to Empire State University (including a girl who looks kinda like one of the creatures from Alien named Amber), Our Hero arrives in his dorm room and meets his new roommate, Walter.
They don't exactly hit it off.
After Walter goes to hide at the library, someone breaks into Jono's room and shoots our hero in the chest several times. As Jono no longer has much in the way of internal organs, this doesn't exactly do much, but it sure as hell takes him by surprise.
Jono goes on to have further adventures with Amber, the resident Magneto Worshiping Jackasses on Campus, and one Anti-Mutant human, all the while hunting for the truth behind the bombing that killed six mutants and brought him to ESU in the first place.
Then he comes back to his dorm and once again encounters the ever-pleasant Walter.
One bar fight later, Our Hero finally figures out what happened (or something akin to it), and it's time to call the proverbial Calvary. Of course, there's one tiny problem...
So, Jono ends up saving the day... kind of. (He's also a dick to Amber, but that's a WHOLE 'nother post)
