Madman Atomics Comics 15 cover and more Wednesday Comics
Image Comics has finally updated their online schedule with next week's releases.
There's only one thing I was looking for, and to my great pleasure, I've got something to look forward to this Wednesday.

Is anyone else excited about this? I know I've been squeeing since the first time I saw this cover!

The Source has this preview of Neil Gaiman and Mike Allred's Metamorpho, from Wednesday Comics!

Am I the Happiest Boy? I might be a contender! I might be somebody, instead of a b--

Yesh, lil Megan and her plate of oreos. She showed up once or twice along Martian Manhunter. I think this one's the only one that's easy to icon.

Use it if you want of course. XD

Oooh, very nice art there, even if without dialog the scenes seem a bit inconsistent. I don't know a lot about Metamorpho outside his powers and origin, but this looks interesting.

I'll be oddly disappointed if that is Urania, since Gaiman gave her such a moving and interesting death.

Wednesday Comics are outside continuity, and from how Rex's eyes recall Ramona Fradon, and the supporting cast in general, it looks like their going oldschool with it.

...There's an Element Girl? Usually I'd find it weird but the art's too pretty for me to be negative.

I've always liked Allred's art and have enjoyed the numerous Bowie references in his work, but I still wonder how Allred squares away Bowie's bisexuality and gender-bending with his Mormon faith. (Allred's, not Bowie's.)

I'd imagine the same way he squared away all he stuff in X-Statix: not being uptight. Not everyone who's passionate about their religion has to be a fundamentalist.

You're correct, of course. (I still blame Orson Scott Card, though.)

Having picked up Ultimate Iron Man, I can tell you that Card's beliefs are slightly too visible in his writing. It's like there was a checklist:

Hero = Not homo! Makes sure he is known to not be homo!

Villain = Won't stop making homo references to self! Despite being a child, comes off as a pedophile!

Old style Metamorpho! Sweet! I wonder if Gaiman's going to do a version of his origin?
