Superman/Batman Annual #3
Composite Superman, Modern Age

Posted this on the old s_d, and Jelly_Ace has posted one page over here. Ran across the issue and was rereading. I really thought it was a very fun read, with fantastic, gorgeous art. I really like Chris Batista's work.

Story by Len Wein, pencils by Chris Batista, inks by Mick Gray and Jack Jadson.

I have to admit, I rather like this psychotic take on an old, somewhat silly character.

I guess it's a good thing he doesn't have Legion powers in the mix.

It's stories like this which is why I love S/B so much. They just go off on whatever random drug-induced tangent that they feel like.

This comic can be so awesomely strange in the best way. I love these two being awkward together.

(Also I couldn't help but want to clue Bruce in that currently there are people in the Batcave...)

"X-D Awesome! Cracky story, sexy art... *loves* And I just love how they casually reaffirm the old Robin-is-to-Batman-what-Lois-is-to-Sperman, and are not even the tiniest bit subtle about it!

Also, why aren't there chained-up!Tim icons yet? Especially of that bottom panel of the last page?

So crack-y, and yet the art is sooooo good. I really love Supes' pose in the first panel of the third page. That's what I call body language!

I posted one of these pages before, and here's the icon I got from the great people of S_D!

I really enjoyed this amazing issue of Superman/Batman storyline. It would be fair mentioning that the graphics is highly detailed, especially when it comes to mechanical characters like Atomic Skull or Metallo. Thanks a lot for this post, it seems to me this issue brought back one of the weirder concepts of 1960 comics.
