Blackest Night #4 Bat Member Appearance

HOLY CRAP. AZRAEL. MY SURPRISE REFUSES TO SHUT OFF MY CAPS.

Damn it all if that ain't awesome. I guess "Jean Paul Valley Lives!" get to come true after all, kinda. And now we officially know that Jean Paul did indeed die at the end of his series.

With any luck he can kill the new Azrael.

Oh and I loved this Scarecrow bit. It does make sense for his emotions to just be utterly burnt out after years of using the Fear Toxin.

Actually, he reappeared off panel and was killed by the original Dr. Polaris, according to Cheetah.
As for JPV returning as a zombie, does anyone get the impression that this was a middle finger to the Azrael fans who wanted the original one back so they could focus on the current Azrael who no one cares about overall? I mean if Jean Paul did die at the end of his series, why was Bruce unable to find his body? Or better yet, why was Azrael mentioned as being alive in Booster Gold? This felt like a very forced decision on DC's editorial staff to me and I wouldn't be surprised if the current Azrael series suffers as a result of their obvious short-sighted bias.
