Kryptopolitans and Barry picks up a gun for the war effort.

These are from The Brave and the Bold #28 in which Barry volunteers for an experiment and accidentally travels back in time to the Battle of the Bulge then joins the Blackhawks in their fight against the Germans.

Barry's leg is broken when he awakes after blacking out. Some Nazis spot him and fends them off by pelting bricks at them.

Barry is reluctant to help the Blackhawks kill even though it's WWII and he would be fighting Nazis and he doesn't seem to have a problem with only possibly killing them with bricks to the head at super speed. Since Barry vowed to never kill while wearing his Flash "uniform" he takes it off and puts on an American soldier's uniform to help the Blackhawks just until his leg heals.

The issue ends with Barry putting on the Flash suit, his leg healed, and returning to the present via the rift his experiment created, but not before Blackhawk says, "Go with God, son."

And now for something completely different.

That was posted on Jimmy Palmiotti's blog. It was drawn for fun at a con by Amanda.

Or they're just having fun with the character.

If I hadn't read six issues of Power Girl that comes across like (and I'm using this no matter how redundant it gets, because it's the best example I have) the writers were using Captai Hero as a model for Power Girl's personality, I might think that as well. Unfortunately, I have read those comics, so when I see a drunk Power Girl rubbing herself, I can't help but think the final panel of that story ends with Peej flying off in the top of the panel, saying, "I need a shower. I smell like a drunk frat boy died on me," and the bottom of the panel has a pile of dead frat boys with smiles on their faces.

comparing Power Girl to that sociopath on that idiotic show just makes your arguement less likely to be taken seriously.

Given that the majority of readers have no problem with Power Girl helping a murderer get to Brazil in exchange for the rights to examine their technology, I doubt any argument I make will be taken seriously.

Considering the "Policeman named Stagg" was on hand and saw it was an accident it's not exactly a big problem.

My biggest moral qualm of the story was PG taking their tech to reverse engineer it without asking first.

I don't think it matters that is was an accident, even if the police saw it. Anez should have been tried for manslaughter, at the very least, even with the cop reporting it as an accident. Their glossing over someone's murder, which by way of the narrative, Power Girl is partially culpable for, leaves a very bad taste in my mouth.

Knocking over a bolt, scaring someone with a gun, and having that person shoot off someone's head is not light and breezy comedy. It can be comedy, very similar to what you'd see on Drawn Together, but it's not what I expect from a DC hero. It's sloppy for someone who's supposed to be good enough to be in charge of the JSA, specifically the JSA training the next generation of heroes.

It's nice for you, and apparently the majority of Power Girl readers, that you can be okay with Power Girl being a humorously direct part of a bystander's death, but that's not what I want to get out of a comic book about Power Girl.

And all superheroes put people in jail without due process. What's your point?

What's your point?

I don't find the accidental death of anyone funny unless it's in an obviously satirical setting (ala, "Oh my god, they killed Kenny!"), I don't think a DC hero should be that apathetic about it, and I seem to be in the minority of people who think that.

I'm sure people accidentally die when superheroes around doing weird stuff all the time and we never see a fuss. The only difference here was that they showed it.

Frankly, going any further in this thread is rather pointless. I think the scene was horrible and undermined any comedic value of the story, you and most everyone else are okay with it. I'm dropping the book when I get the comic shop Thursday, people who keep reading the book will continue enjoying it. I'm going to miss Amanda Connor's art, but I can't stomach the stories any longer.

If I ever go to a con that Amanda Conner is at, I'm totally going to ask her to draw that.

I'm sure she'll be happy to do it, too. After all, Palmiotti's autographed the first comic with my request.

Personally, given where they are already, they should go all the way into AMBUSH BUG or SHE-HULK territory and just go with the absurd--it already has a look geared to that. PG is uniquely placed in that respect, being an anomaly outside of, well, the DCU itself.

Honestly, this is the first corner of any part of the world I've encountered where some people don't love the Power Girl series. I can understand people not liking it, but it just seems a few people are taking it way too seriously.

Nope, the Galileo fallacy has nothing to do with this.

That fallacy is about claiming that you are right because they say that you are wrong. This is about claiming that, just because most people believe something, it doesn't necessarily mean that they are right.

Once again, you are dismissing any opinion that disagrees with yours as "irrational" (despite the fact that people who hate the PG series have clearly explained their reasons for doing so), and assuming that anybody who hates something you like must hate "most things" (despite the fact that we only mentioned the PG series and nothing else).

How sensible of you!

No, I'm not dismissing any opinion that disagrees with mine. If I were I would have agreed with your assessment on my definition of sensible.
