First post to a soon-to-be moved community... hope I didn't break any rules!

Scruffy Connor comforts Mia in an after school special sort of way (Green Arrow #67). Awww!

That guy's so great. I sure hope they don't wipe his entire identity from him with a lame coma-related plot device!

Oliver dispenses fatherly hugs (Green Arrow #73). Awww!

Ollie wants to check Slade's orifices (Green Arrow #63)... awww?

Slade looks pretty happy about it so I guess it's okay. I knew they'd work it out, those crazy kids!

Speaking of crazy kids, how about some Bizarro in a jar (Batman/Superman #22)?

And as per someone's request, here are some heroes with kids. Specifically Robin version-Timmy with a British schoolboy-looking Christopher Kent (Superman #668).

Uh-oh, Batman thinks you're neat, Chris! Run away before you're thrown into neon green hot pants and forced to work the streets to attain Batman's love and acceptance!

Bonus fanart by glockart who has combined two geek fandoms brilliantly.

Tim really could pull off the Spock look. Original link here.

Now, why can't we have awesome happy Tim like this anymore? His flip off of Chris was adorable, and also really neat!

I must admit, I am a tad bit disturbed by the Slade page. He looks quite...happy.

I love the fanart!

I don't know, I'm new and must have missed it when I was going through the Green Arrow tag!

I wasn't at all fond of that Natas GA comics (in terms of artwork or writing), but that one scene stuck out as sweet to me.

Hmn? Oh, no, it's no slight on you. There was an EC post a bit back where one of the characters was named "Natas," and we spent a bit of snark on how ridiculously stupid and obvious a name that was and why would you ever call your character that, it's only marginally better than "Doctor I M D Devyl." Which was funny enough in a horror comic as old-school as that one. In a modern-day Green Arrow I can't believe anybody would even consider it. Authors are silly.

I dunno, "Natas" sounds innocuous enough if you don't give it a second thought. It's not like "Alucard," which is so ridiculous you can't help but look at it closely.

Check behind the eyepatch too, IIRC he hid kryptonite in Ravager's empty eyesocket (to surprise Superman) in Devin Grayson's Nightwing run.

[info]statham1986

Wow. That's.. Um... Caring. Did he make the eyepatch out of lead, too?

(Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

[info]icon_uk
2009-10-23 07:23 pm UTC (link)
One assumes he must have done, but only so that Superman wouldn't detect the kryptonite.

(Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

[info]bariman1987
2009-10-24 04:20 am UTC (link)
Didn't Nightwing think that Ravager was at risk for Kryptonite brain cancer? One would think a lead-lined eye socket (eww) would have contained the radiation along with the lead eye patch. If it was just a lead eye patch it wouldn't have done much to hide the Kryptonite from Superman.

Of course, I could just be confusing canon with an interesting fanfic I read back when I was getting into comics and setting up my mental comics history/trivia thing.

[info]icon_uk
2009-10-24 09:16 am UTC (link)
I believe you are right, but it's just one of those things which made no sense in the story. Either the kryptonite would need to be a lead capsule to prevent Superman sensing it, in which case it's risk to Rose is limited, or it's not, in which case Superman would be able to sense it's presence.

It's a lot less clunkier than IJ, has epic word limits for your posting count (about 42k words in main post, and up to 5k words for your comment posting box). I know that the six icon account sucks but... oh well.
