Sigrid was okay with herself and happily out. And female, and a new character who nobody would bitch about. Todd was not even halfway there. And male, and an established character with fans ready to flip their shit. Of course they made different levels of claim to their sexuality. That's how that works, both for people coming out and for writers who don't want to lose their jobs.
