Wonder Woman #36

This is from Wonder Woman #36, by Simone and Lopresti.

Tom asks Diana how he can trust her, since she said she didn't love him.

They kiss, then Tom says "And I... I don't belong here." He tells Diana to set them down.

Which takes me back to ... why is she courting him in the first place, beyond the fact that he's a sperm receptacle? I've seen absolutely nothing in his character that makes him even a remotely worthwhile human being, much less one worthy of being "courted" by Diana. Then, as now, he's not worth the effort.

To you maybe. We often see things in other people that many others may not.

The writer has an obligation to show those things to the audience. That did not happen here. Therefore, I reject this portrayal on its face.

That's your subjective opinion, not fact.

I, for one, think the Gail showed clearly that Tom is a great guy.

The previous writers showed Tom as a douche, sure, but then the previous writers also showed that Diana doesn't know what a freaking credit card is, so I'd say it's for the best to just ignore pre-Gail portrayals altogether.

Well she's attracted to him, he's heroic and loyal, she feels he could understand her life style and she wanted to. She found all this in a guy at the time in her life where she has never been more alone. She courts him after visiting her essentially empty home island and decided to give it a try. Can't a person seek a relationship when they feel lonely or if the mood strikes them?

She didn't want Babies, babies babies with him right away, she said so herself it was an honest attraction, nothing more or less. What she was doing with the peach pit was saying, do you want to got out some time? After being with him more and more, her feeling grew. There was a story later where she spends time with some children and after feels a bit broody and that happens to plenty of women, so that's probably where she first got the idea. Thoughts of children + boyfriend = ?

Do you read Wonder Woman monthly? Because I at least have seen Tom as a worthwhile human being, and an admirable one at that in the book at times. Do you need examples?
