They were never comfortable with her and didn't want the neighbors to find out that they had a mutant daughter, but they still let her come home. They just treated her very differently.

But they didn't actually disown her until after she made a deal with a guy to have telepaths force her parents to love and accept her again. And when the mind control ended and they realized what she'd done to them, that was when they told her not to come home again.
