The Signpost Up Ahead: Your Next Stop.....

Rarely seen, although probably well known since they're mentioned by name on wikipedia, here are the first two published works by comics veteran (and Hollywood newbie) Frank Miller.

"Royal Feast", THE TWILIGHT ZONE #84, JUNE 1978

"Endless Cloud", THE TWILIGHT ZONE #85, JULY 1978

So, this makes number five in my DELL-GOLDKEY-WHITMAN series.
I'll be out of town for the weekend, so now would be the best time to solicit requests
(I'll check the comments when I return).
What genre would you folks like to see the most of?
At one time or another they published every genre (cartoon, western, horror, sci-fi, TV and film adaptions, educational, superhero, adventure, war, etc.).
Pick your mind poison, S_D, and I'll try to dig some up.

I would've sworn that "Royal Feast" was drawn by Nick Cardy. Maybe Cardy inked it?

According to GCD both stories were inked by ?.
Apparently, ? was one of the most prolific creators that ever worked in the comics industry, with thousands of writing, pencilling, and inking credits attributed to him.
Someday, somebody should put up a megapost spotlighting all the highlights of the late, great ?'s career.

Could it be the same person as the renowned prose and poetry author Anonymous? Or the ubiquitous scholary team of Ibid. and et al.?

Clearly I've been reading too many creepy stories here. I was expecting the "delicacy" to be the eggs of some insect or other that would hatch out and eat the Sheik

Damn.
You've got a helluva imagination, icon.
There's some violent war comics from Dell that I could post, but their sci-fi and horror stuff is usually pretty tame.
I think that somewhere along the line they figured their target audience of readers was between eight to twelve year old children who scared easily.
By contrast, the various "funny animal" kid books consistently had the strongest storytellers (Kelly's POGO, Barks' Duck family, Stanley's miscellania).

Not *nearly* enough irony.

Wait! There is yet a morsel!...This tiny bit cannot harm me!

Okay, looks like it's up to me to make the obvious allusion to Mr. Creosote and the "wahfer-thin mint"...
