Naw, FN isn't a shitty writer, he's just one of the many who writes Jason shittily, IMO. Not many people outside of Winnick can really get him. Even Simone messed him up.

Jason has rage issues, he IS the problem child of the bunch because he has the biggest daddy issues of them all, but he's not in any way less talented at crimefighting than they are, he's NOT short-sighted, it is simply that his moral values are very different.

Admittedly, Nicieza writes him less shittily than most, but..."thinks like a blunt instrument"? No. Just no. Nobody who thought like a blunt instrument could have dismantled Black Mask's entire organization and kidnap the Joker without getting himself killed. Hate on his VALUES not his competency.
