The Fantastic Reed #571

Four scans from Fantastic Four #571.

Jonathan Hickman and Dale Eaglesham's run hits issue #2, as Reed continues his adventures with the consortium of alternate Reed Richardses.

First, they visit a planet that one of the Reeds has converted into a giant farm to feed other worlds.  Reed is impressed at how many people this planet must feed.

Later, Reed and co. pop into another universe and defeat the local Dr. Doom, fitting him with a nifty collar that destroys all his higher brain functions.

They then head off to grow to super-macro size and perform surgery  on a universe, extracting some fringe dark matter that would have caused it to collapse, thus averting catastrophe and saving 8 billion people (seems a bit low, but maybe it's a young universe).

Finally, the Reeds tell Reed that he's now seen the best stuff they do (scan #1), the worst (#2), and the scale of their activities; now he has to decide whether he wants to join.  Reed ultiamtely decides that he does.  His welcoming celebration is interrupted:

This run's off to a good start, though, as you might guess by the post title, the rest of the group still feel like little more than cameos.  Hickman's got a great handle on Reed, and, from what little we see of the others, them as well, so hopefully once this arc is over we'll see the focus shift elsewhere.

I'd also like to add that the, "I've got some Doom in me" line is soooooo very gay.

I read it like the Captain Morgan commercials.

"Got a little Doom in you?"

It's also the extreme "beat you over the head" version of obviousness to let you know who will be the person betraying them. In case the evil beard and mustache didn't hit the cliche enough.
