Sam had been keeping busy after his break up with Alicia. It was hard to not think of her. She was a big part of his life ... in Salem. He met her early on, they clicked and then things happened. Things happened even though Sam knew how old she was and that was the problem. They had gone through a lot in a short time. She died, came back - it was a lot. Now it had been a week since he had spoken to her and he wondered how she was doing. He figured Dixon would be there. They were friends. She would be alright. It was Sam who kept to himself. There were moments during the day where he would meet Serena, but it was just to help her. She wanted to learn how to protect herself and he was more than willing to help her. It was enough to distract him for the time being.
Dean got a hold of him, wanting to go hunting, but Emily was going to come along too. Which was fine. Dean wouldn't waste his time if he didn't think it was worth it, so there was something about Emily that he liked and admired. If there wasn't, he would have been done with her. Sam was actually surprised he was teaching some random girl how to hunt, but maybe Dean was lonely too. Who knew. Either way, Sam was going to meet this Emily and hopefully they could find some action tonight. The last time he and Dean had gone out, they came out with nothing and it was disappointing.
He got himself ready by getting dressed, arming himself. His guns, two of them, one with bullets laced with vervain. He had his knives, and a stake for good measure. He was slowly building up his weapons collection considering the Impala wasn't anywhere in Salem. He was lucky enough to receive his laptop and he went over old cases, seeing if anything stuck out when he read the paper in Salem.
Sam shut off everything in his bedroom before leaving and heading downstairs. Dean and Emily were nowhere to be found, so he waited a little longer, pulling his phone out and going over messages that he wasn't getting. He shook his head and pushed his phone back in his jean pocket as he waited for his brother. He felt a tap on his shoulder and he flinched before turning around.
Emily knew what Sam looked like. Dean had pointed him out before and she had seen him on the network a few times so when she recognized him downstairs in the lobby, she went ahead and walked up to him. She probably should have said something, but she didn't and instead, tapped him on the shoulder. Did he just jump? Someone was nervous. Which was great, because she was nervous too. He was Dean's brother and from what Dean had told her, they had this system and they did things a certain way. She just hoped that she fit in somehow because Emily knew she didn't want to go anywhere. She enjoyed hunting. She felt good about it.
"Sam?" She offered him a half smile as she pushed her hands in her pockets. "I'm Emily, Dean told me to come downstairs right now." She rolled her eyes and smiled a little, showing she was teasing a little.
"Yeah, I'm Sam. It's good to meet you," he nodded and saw Dean getting off the elevator. They both looked in his direction. "Took you long enough."
