"It was better than the car I had before, Dean," Sam replied dryly and looked back at Em, who just gave Sam a look. He shook his head and his eyes were back on the road, listening as Dean and Emily went back and forth when it came to the vampires and what to do. Oh boy, this was going to be interesting. Not that Sam didn't trust Dean, but it was a lot different to practice on a vamp here and a vamp there than it was to go after a nest. Of course, Sam was just assuming and well, everyone knew what happened when a person assumed but Sam couldn't really help himself.
"The vampires that dust are so much easier. And they don't like holy water either. Plus, they can't be in the sun. The desiccating vampires are faster, they can be out in the sun and they're able to brainwash." She looked at Sam. "You're on vervain right?" She asked Sam and he nodded.
The three of them got out of the truck and went to the back. Sam grabbed the bag that Dean had brought with him whereas Sam had his weapons on him. Dean brought a bit more, but he figured it was for the two of them. Or maybe not. Emily pulled out her gun and checked the bullets before putting it back in its holster under her shirt. She also pulled out her stake and noticed that Sam was looking at her.
"What did you think I wasn't going to come prepared?" Her eyebrow was raised as if she was looking for Sam to actually answer her, but Sam just looked at Dean before shrugging. Emily sighed. The last thing she wanted was to make things uncomfortable. But Emily had a feeling they already were.
"Ready?" Sam asked, after checking over his weapons. They were leaving the truck where it was for right now because the nest wasn't far off. The three of them fell into step besides eachother and the walk wasn't long at all.
Emily was definitely following their lead but she had no problem going first. That was one thing she did know and that was she trusted Dean. She knew he would have her back regardless. So Emily pushed herself ahead of both of them. Sam glanced over at Dean and nodded. Alright, so Emily wasn't that bad. And besides, it wasn't about Emily. It was about Dean.
"I hear something," she said, not knowing what it was - yet. She looked back at Dean, wondering if he heard it too. There was a definite clicking sound. But not a click ... click ... click ... more like a clickclickclick, but it was really faint.
