Emily held on tightly to the stake in her hand as she crouched down, with Sam beside her and Dean on the other side. She looked up at the house, at the vampire who was casually smoking a cigarette. Suddenly and without warning, Dean was up and he shoved the stake into the vampires back. Emily moved to get closer, but Sam held her back as Dean walked back over to them. Full of them. Emily's stomach turned as she looked past Dean and up at the house. It was old and abandoned and even Emily could see how dark it was. They were going to have to be careful, especially walking around because of the creaks but then again, it didn't matter. The vampires would know what was going on the moment they stepped inside.
"Is she okay to go on her own if we all separate?" Sam asked and Emily shot him a look.
"I can do it."
Sam shot his hands up in surrender and nodded. "Alright, I'm going toward the back, there has to be a back porch." Sam looked to his brother before he nodded and then moved toward the house.
Emily looked at Dean and instead of just waiting around, she got up and walked past him. She wanted to prove herself and she trusted Dean and Sam, even if Sam was annoying. She understood why he was doing it. She guessed anyway.
As she approached the house, she just kept thinking to herself that all of these vampires were just like Elena and Katherine. They were manipulative and they could brainwash and they were killing people. Emily knew that the vampires who were dusted once staked couldn't compel, at least so far, but it was just for herself. To think of them like they were Elena and Katherine because Emily wanted nothing more than to stake Elena and be done with it.
She watched Dean on the other side of the door before she reached, turning the knob. She pushed the door open and the room was dark. It took her a second to let her eyes adjust, but she stepped inside. She didn't hear anything, at least not yet.
Her boot crunched over something along the wood floor and she lifted her foot and that's when the smell hit her. It smelled like death. She brought her hand to her mouth and nose and looked back at Dean. She saw his eyes widen and she turned around quickly and with her own reaction, she shoved the stake into the vampire's heart. He turned to dust in front of her and she took a deep breath. Shit.
